Manccuso is supposed to be buying back my 08 25R with the clutch issues. I will talk to
Mike Atkinson at Manccuso tomorrow to get the how to’s.

Enough of that!!!

Buell Customer Service has performed perfectly again. On this issue, taking only one week to come up with a decision!!!

So my question is, should I ask for an 09 25R and pay a little or just return to the Lady in Black and start the relationship up again.

By the way I think Courts finger prints were actually found on my service file in Wisconsin? Go figure...

Not that I can prove anything mind you...

Thanks again guys. I wouldn’t have handled this even close to correctly, had I not listened to the elder States Men in our ranks, which care about the Brand and even more for the Guys ridin em. It shows!

Glad to hear you're happy & BCS, BMC & your dealer have hit on a resolution you are satisfied with.

If I were you, I don't see much difference, functionally speaking, between the '08 & '09, as long as all recalls/upgrades have been performed on the '08. Just remember there will be no more blue framed 1125R's anytime soon.

I bought my bike from Mancuso, too.

With every new bike, you get a chocolate cake there. Not sure why. But it was pretty good. Maybe the only reason you'd want to do an '09 instead... well, the cake plus the revised O2 sensor positioning, which is an '09 advantage, I suppose.

Sorry if I'm confused here... I'm assuming that your choice is between a new '09 and some patched up version of your existing '08 1125R.

I did have the option of my old bike with 5 major surgery's worth of scratches, loose bolts, they forgot to tighten, & a scratched frame, from 3 lay downs, but all new plastics.

Thats why I oppted for a new one.

They do have another 08 August biuld.

I'll more than likely get that one unless anyone has any inside info on the 09's...?

However they do have one with a Serial# in the 3oo's any reason to get that one?

Personally, I'd go 09.

They didn't spend all the time and effort on the upgrades to the 09's for no reason.

Don't get me wrong, I love my 08, it's great. But the 09's are even better.

The '09 also has the modified injectors and built in rear bobbins. I would go with the '09, personally.

Les,

I'm going against all of my previous posts with this one but oh well...there is no reason for you not to be 100% satisfied after all that you've been through.

You've proven enough from what I've understood and so has your dealership and Buell/HD.

Spend the difference and ride out on an 09 w/o any reasons as to why, as they really don't matter now.

Best of wishes on whatever Buell you end up with! I'm just glad to read that your staying on and look forward to your future input here! : )

I went today to pick out a new bike. 08 July build. I'll pick it up next week after they install the new clutch cover and flash.

Although it feels like I just Frenched my sister I guess when I get it home and get to ride it the bad taste will leave with the first power wheely.

I can't thank you guys enough for sticken with me with some great advice and some much needed corrective criticism when I started whining. It's easy to forget that nobody owes you nothing when help comes as easy as it does here.

Thanks
Les

Les,
Which Mancuso are you dealing with Crossroads or North Loop?
Just curious, as I got my bike from Crossroads and have been wondering who the best tech is to talk to about working on my bike.

Thanks,
Daniel

Daniel,
Cross roads.

Talk to Dave the service Manager if he will talk to you. He usualy only handles problems though. Try to stay away from Maney the short guy w/ tats on his arms he's in it foe the buck only Great Lier.

They only have one real schooled Buell tech.
The guy is young but is great to talk to. you have to get back there behind the security door to see him.

If you get the chance pm me.
Les

I didn't have the best service experience at Mancuso (Crossroads)... when I tried to explain to the service manager that there was a real stalling problem (this was way back in March), he didn't believe me, and expressed his disagreement with heavy sighs over the phone. At first, I thought he was pleasuring himself. I know I'm sexy, but come on...

I also asked that they replace a missing bolt and valve stem cap, but he ignored me.

In every Harley dealer, it seems, there's that young enthusiastic tech who's factory trained and really competent. They keep that guy locked behind the security door. But that's the guy you want to speak with.

Those dealerships must suck or were litigated against.

My Service Manager is like "go back to the Service Bays and talk to whoever you want".

The dealership I use is great. You guys out of houston might not want to drive that far but Goe H/D and Buell (in Angelton just south of Houston) is a great place to deal with. They have the best sales and service that I have ever seen.

Yea go figure, Got a great track in your small town, get the best help.

Goe was the only Dealer that would come close to letting me on a bike for a test drive. The salesman was very personable, sat and talked to my girlfriend while bringing out bikes till my freak meeter went tilt, then told me to come back the next weekend and we could do it till I made my mind up.

Now that's service, I think...?

My girlfriend had way too big a smile when I got back...!?

If I can't get a square deal out of Mancusso I may have to make the trip. I think being a multi- brand Dealer may have something to do with their unique style of dealing with people.

Goe is over 70 miles from where I live in Houston and Mancusso about 2, that was the only reason I bought my bike from Mancusso.

If you happen to go back to GOE ask for Ron he is a really good guy to deal with.
