Hey all, my cousin just traded in his 12S for a 1125R. So far he loves it, but under engine braking he gets a strange suction noise. Any idea if this is a normal part of the slipper clutch?

I haven't heard it, as I only spoke to him on the phone, but we assume that its the vacuum part coming into play.

I am guessing he is hearing the primary gear at low speed deceleration. Its normal. I think it sounds pretty cool. I only hear it when I am riding slow in the neighborhood.

yes there is a little actuator on the right side frame rail that connects to the throttle assembly remove that and most of the noise should go away i had that problem with the wrecked 1125r i bought for stunt purposes i got rid of that cylinder and it stopped one of my boys said it is for "emissions" or some bs like that but i removed mine and the noise quit try itout

Oh i wouldn't be to sure about that Sly.... When i removed my noid, not only did my RWHP quadruple (i have the dyno sheets), the bike started washing itself and making me coffee in the morning.

Oh the magical mystical noid....

Fresnobuell,

That freakin' thing gave me nightmares back in the day......Thanks for the reminder!...I guess we're close in age tho! : )

How in the %^?*?!(*!?)?(?1%!%&!^?$? do YOU sleep? Or do you get slapped by your wife every hour of night?!!!!!

Skylerxb12r,

That was good...I only gained one hp and one ft pound of tq with my noid 86...

Getting back to thread topic;

Under certain decel conditions, the front brake and the fans "catching" the right air also add some fun listening as well!

Yes, bystanders' heads turn in wonder...

Thus far, all of them seem normal and only add to the unique character of this animal.

Hey guys- This is Froggys Cuz,
I just made my account so i figured id chime in here. First let me say thanks for all the help. This bike is amazing so far and i am very happy with my choice of trading in my xb12s for this.

So what i was telling my cuz about was that when i am riding, it makes a sound when u let go of the throttle the motor slows speeds down and is running slower then the bike is going. Then, it makes it again once you start to throttle up when the engine catches back up. once it catches back up, it doesn't make any noise. i hope i explained this well enough. like someone said, it happens when riding around town mostly

Yup, that's your primary gear noise. It kinda has a whine to it. See post #2 above...
