took the bike in for its 1000 mile service and there was a recall on the cam tensioner. has anyone else done this recall? what was the problem? if you have had i done....was there any performance gain from it?

Mine was done at time of purchase, no gains/no loss, safety issue recall.

If it was the first batch built from April to September 11, 2009 you should be getting a recall letter...its a 40 minute job to change out the cam chain tensioner as I have seen the actuall recall and service document.

You can have your dealer check or any dealer check the VIN # but if its an October model your in the clear. I am the Buell specialist in Riveside,CA; SKip Fordyce HD/Buell and I will be purchasing a new 08 black CR...made my mind up on my last ride while at work..and to think I was gonna bye another Harley Dyna model.....Jeez..you cant take the sport out of the racer and that Buell is a racer and mean.....! Good Luck....
