okay the reason for posting here is ur all smart and i trust u.

i had to install a program call i am big brother and its ment to monitor ur computer. well i thought i deleted but theres still files left and i cant delete them. it tells me access denied.
my computer has been slow when typing on the web. like ill be able to type one letter and itll freeze for a minute then can type one more. blah blah blah. so ive been using my girls user name. and no problem. ive used two different well actually three different anti virus programs. norton came with the computer and it ran out of its trial period, but i wasnt really satisfied with it before it ran out. so i got mcafee which i payed 79 dollars for a year, which is when i installed that program, i started to have problems so i decided to try windows live onecare no help. but norton still has a security scan on still and when it just scaned it found 25 files that are spyware and most are that left over big brother program. some say infection below. is there anything i can do besides deleting and then replace from the back up disc that came with the computer.

flame away

The third reflash fixed most computer related problems the 1125's were having. You obviously have not been to the dealer to get the latest update. That should help.

ccleaner.com- free download
superantispyware.com- free download
You can go on cnet and research multiple software downloads available and get some advise there too.
And I have a subscription to McAfee and it is well worth it.

www.avast.com for antivirus
www.lavasoftusa.com for spyware
http://www.safer-networking.org/en/index.html for another spyware program.
All 3 are free and work well.

jmr - if those don't work - try these:

Trojan Hunter (mischel security) - free 30 day trial.

When in doubt - go to task manager and look at running processes under your name/user. Google each .exe and try to find ones that are obviously spyware. Follow directions to remove.

Honestly, after a lot of years working on PC's - sometimes it's quicker to wipe and reload (plus force you to backup) than do hours of troubleshooting.

Good luck!
