Ordered the full fairings from Grand Stand Design today for my track only bike. Can't say enough about how knowledgeable and helpful Pete (GSD guy that helped me) is. My order is already picked up by UPS.

My question is what colors should I use on my blue frame '08? Any ideas on designs? For a while I thought a red and white design would work. Then I thought about the Ducati yellow (very visible on track). But then again I used to really love the Bultaco red/black/yellow scheme.

I don't want to start any fights but I would sure like to hear a variety of opinions.

Sly, I was hoping for a little more creativity. Everything is black (even my FJR). Not that it doesn't look good.

BTW Pete mentioned that he was familiar with you. We were laughing at your bastard comment on my winter photo in the MotoST thread.

You won't be disappointed in the fairings, I am installing a set now.

Pete is great!

Duggram,

I'm reading ya! : )...you guys seem a lot like my father now.

His over the top paint, years ago, was lime/flouro green fading into eye piercing, bright yellow and then into gloss black.

TOOK ME...six months being tortured to perfect on his last project...now there is another! (A lot bigger area than this bike!)

The latest art work he dreamed up consists of like frustration but with different blended colors.

Low tint, deep and dark pink(?!) arch faded into a deeper purple and then finally...into black.

The lines on this bike cry out for weird crap like my dad or YOU all to figure out.

I'm turning 40 soon and this $hit has to find an ending for me! : )

Now you know why I like all black...wetsanding sucks on this end!!!!!!!!

Best of wishes to you guys! I can't wait to see you post a finished product!

No Sly, I don't mean wild colors. I was thinking of examples like Gieco MotoST bike or the yellow and black Ilmberger bike. Simple colors but with patterns. Like you pointed we don't have flat panels to work with. I'm just not creative enough to see the possibilities.

Definitely not thinking of a color that will make me puck.

John, I'm replacing/installing all the parts: front cowl, airbox, one piece rear fender, under fender pan, side panels & belly pan. So I thought it would be an opportunity for some. But your bike does look good

I am painting everything black, so there is a smooth transition between the pod part of the fairing and the lower side fairing. I am going to work on it tomorrow and have a pretty good idea on where the supports are going to be, pictures will follow.

Hey Guys,

Thanks for the compliments. I'm trying my best to serve the Buell community well and stay in business at the same time.

I'm happy everyone is liking the Flexi-Glass bodywork for the 1125. Trev does a great job up there in Canada putting this stuff together for us. It is well made and fits nicely on the bike. Please let me know if anyone else is looking to order as I'm sold out again on right and left side panels. I need to figure out how many I need to import next time around.

As we get closer to winter here in the northeast, I want to put together an 1125 parts wish list. I only have time to design, test and manufacture two or three new parts before the spring rolls around. I will definitely have a chain drive conversion kit, mirror block offs, and a 240mm kit done. What else would you want to see come to market quickly?

Oh yeah...don't say exhaust because I will be carrying the Twin Motorcycles pipe as soon as development is finished. But most of you know that already since that thread is 3 pages long now!

Thanks, Pete

nice looking faring.

hrmm, how about a tail piece that is wide or otherwise designed to ascetically add burl to the back end -- say a bit wider, a matching flare to go with the r's headlamps up front. that or a cr front faring that is tweaked, maybe a bit bigger? heck, i like both 1125s so i'm reaching...i would just love to see a cr with an scg tail and a full fairing on it and my christmas list would be complete...anybody willing to photoshop? pay ya a dollar.

REARSETS!

I've talked to Woodcraft but they haven't decided yet if they will make them. Matt at Trojan showed some pics but no prices or availability yet.

Pete, maybe you should start a wish list thread. You'd get more responses.

There is only one colour that a racing Buell should be in my opinion, and that will always be Black & Orange, but then I am a little biased of course : ) Even the 'scoops' would lend themselves to this colour scheme and would probably look a lot smaller and neater too : )

Matt, that does look good. But I don't want to paint my frame. Maybe use the frame's blue in place of the black? Thanx for the pics. This is more like what I had in mind.

Disposabuell, I hear you on the tail section. i started working on something a few months ago and wasn't able to finish. I think I'll resurrect that project.

Duggram, no problem on the rear sets. I'll add it to the list.

Pete

Sorry Matt, Black and Orange are "Harley Colors." I like Blue and Silver myself...

The top picture is of the bike that was in PB. The lower picture is of our earlier (2003) bike.
