Hey guys well the dealer ship was reassembling my bike, fixing it after i wrecked (2months ago), and i got a new frame but during reassembly they ran into a problem...they told me that the new frame rail(i believe they said top rail) wouldn't fit in the new frame, but the old one one fit in the new frame... Anyone have insight or suggestions on the frame rail, how to fix it, or if you think they could(per regulation) use the old frame rail??? Much Thanx, Jake | ||

Are you talking about the rear subframe upper mounts? More descrip needed. | ||

i think so...the dealership didnt really tell me much..thats the only thing logical i can think of.. | ||

I was trying to figure out what he meant as well. I think you may be right about the subframe. Maybe they ordered an XB subframe by mistake? | ||

Unless it was welded in the jig off, the only other thing that comes to mind is shipping damage? There is some flexibility to the legs on the rear subframe...I wonder if this tech was "pulling" hard enough? I'd go back to your dealer and have the tech physically show you the problem before we jump to unknowns here...just a suggestion but to answer your original question, nope, ain't never run into this problem! | ||

no i dont think they did becasue the engine and everything bolt up to it and i saw the sales recipt for the parts, i wish they wouldve elaborated more so i think its the sub frame, becasue i didnt think the frame had frame rails or anything like that... | ||

yeah i want to go up to the dealership and see for myself, but dont have alot of time to do it and the 45min drive there...but i wish i knew exactly wat they were talking about.. | ||

You are correct...the main frame/fuel cell is a rigid/single part. The rear subframe is fabricated aluminum square tubing that is welded at the ends to cast aluminum bosses where it bolts to the main frame and upper rear shock mount/frame. I'd go in and politely ask to see it just to understand it all... Better yet, have them email you a digital pic? I'd wager that they will get with BMC and figure it all out...this seems like an easy one, I wouldn't get too excited just yet. (Message edited by slypiranna on November 11, 2008) | ||

yeah thought so...thx sly sounds like a plan, might do it tomorrow.. I have alot of faith in my dealership, i know they'll do it right the first time.. Sucks they ran into the problem though...would've had it already(sunday  ).. any more input would be appreciated.. Thanx, Jake | ||
