Hey Speedy
I've just come back from the last round of a series in Victoria Australia with the Hartwell club www.hartwellmcc.org where I ran in the over 600 Novice class against R1's Gixxer 1000's CBRR's etc. First time on the 1125r and I must say its a buzz to ride, still stock bar a Jardine pipe, suspension re valve and springs (to match my not small frame)Bueell race pads and a set of slicks, no other changes at all. A bit down on power in stock form and unable to open full throttle hard out of many of the bumpy or uphill corners due to a lack of steering damper (on it's way)
This thing is on rails! bloody agile! Took me a while to get used to the clutch on the start line, but got 7th, 6th, and 4th.
Won three out of three in the thunderbike races. Off to the dyno wed ready for State championship in two weekends. We will see how it goes on the hardest braking track in Australia.

Well, I haven't 'raced' my 1125r against anybody, but on my second track day of my life, (first on the 1125r) I was easily pulling away from my class (Gizzer 1000, ZX-10, CBR-600, Gizzer 750, and CBR 1000's) and passing the tail end of the lead lap in about 3 laps at Spokane Motorsports Park.

I couldn't make any ground on the straights against the big inline fours, but in the corners I was probably 30% faster than anybody in my class. The 1125r is a track MONSTER, even with my shoddy novice rider skills I can run with more advanced riders on their UJM's.

Ummm I've out run 2 kowboys zx-10s, one geazer 750, (both 08 mdls), an a**load of choppers who's ego was hurt pretty bad! I earned my respect there, and they have put me up aganst many. Out of 23 races, I've only lost 2, one I knew I would, but had to see how I stack up. 07 Busa. And the other was an 08 B-king. V-max?... It had its day. I'm not Angelle Sampe', but seems to me I'm either running into a lot of no riding squids, or this thing is the real deal.
All racing is on a secret location, and only raced aganst stock bikes. And is done in a measured 1320' (1/4 mile) with a nice shut down area. I've made enough for 6 payments and am happy with my purchase!!!

Probably not a fair comparison, but I ride sometimes with a guy with an 08 Suzuki Hyabusa. I know that when the riding starts (aka, when the curves start) I have to wait for him out of the corners. Even coming out of the corners, he tells me I just disappear. When he is leading, I'm always next to his rear tire.
Brakes are another matter. Again this isn't a great comparison but on the road anyway, he and his bike can't stop behind this fat old man on the 11 that's only been riding street bikes for a few years. All this doesn't happen this way when I'm out on the Uly by the way.

Oh when we get stupid, (well away from anyone) on some lonely road, that thing can scoot in a straight line but the difference isn't as much as I expected.

Again this comparison has a lot of variables.

When he learned that I had put money down on this bike in Aug of 07, he traded his ZX11 for the Busa in fear of the 1125R. Now he tells me that he has 'under clubbed', and maybe should have gotten the ZX10 or a Duc.

I told him, he should have bought an 1125!

Bearly, yea the "stock" busa is a detuned drag bike. As is the case with most busa riders, the thing is plaib out scarry! Its heavy, it makes wayyy to much midrange power for the average Joe. And it really don't handle as well as one would think. But when the road gets straight, just let em go, they will lead but as u said its not by too much. Those gsxrs are the top end kings as they are hot stock. But the aftermarket has everything to make them super-duper-bikes! Just u wait, the a-mk WILL do us justice soon!! But as a stock first year proudction bike, Buell has done an EXCELENT job. As good as anyones bike, or better, in the whole world. Dude.

A guy I work with has an R1. I pulled away from him up to about 110 from a 10 mph roll on. The I4's hav a higher peak, but the area under the torque curve in our babies is amazing.

Tested against a 2008 FZ1 that I concurrently owned with the 1125CR for about 6 weeks.

Here are my subjective results:

1) Front brake was equal on both, rear brake on the FZ1 was not as "wooden" feeling as the 1125CR, FZ1 rear brake was better.

2) FZ1 has the HP/Torque like a 1125CR but it's gotta get to about 7500k an up to use it.

3) FZ1 was a bit more roomy, but that's because it is just a bigger motorcycle.

4) FZ1 was a bit heavier, not quite as well performing in the corners, but still exceptional non the less. 1125CR wins in the curves on my time laps.

5) 1125CR has more motor/clutch noise but surprisingly no more vibration than the FZ1.

6) FZ1 quality of build and service was outstanding, so far (6 weeks in) 1125CR has equal quality, except for reports of the muffler rusting after awhile(mine has no signs of this, still only 6 weeks in).

7) The 1125CR releases the "Mr. Hyde" persona in your character. The FZ1 was a great bike, but did not stir the soul like the 1125CR.

8) I have the upright bars on the 1125CR and the comfort quality was on par with the FZ1.

9) Fuel injection seemed to be a "tad" better on the FZ1. But once the 1125CR warmed up it was close.

10) Conservative riding of each revealed FZ1 at 36MPG, 1125CR at 40MPG.
