Any of you several Board members who did this type of surgery to the stock muffler:

surgery to stock muffler

happen to have measured the diameter of the main exhaust pipe (circled in red in the pic)?

The way I'm contemplating "cutting it", it won't be stock. For now I only want to know the diameter of the bloody pipe in the red circle!

Otherwise I'll have to wait for my 2nd one to arrive, then cut and measure myself. Orrrrr, someone who's already done it and measured it (you all did measure it while you had it apart, right?!) could advise.

Kevin, he was asking about the stock muffler, not those turbo mufflers you sell.

I have meet Kevin, he will tell you what he knows and tell "I don't know" if he doesn't. If he tells you an old mare is going to lay an egg, I'd suggest you start building her a nest.

My bet is on 2 3/8 inches!

the pipe on the internals that I took out of this muffler at the shop, the biggest spot on it and its not real round either is 2.400, its hard to measure it because its deformed from the perfs and everything else, I don't know how close you need to measure, but if you need it real close you need to measure the one you have if you are going to make something for it...I can't say that what I have is the same as what you have but my calipers say what they say and thats the best I can do...
