Anyone that might have upgraded to aftermarket wheels and is interested in selling the stockers, please PM me.

Thanks.

Harlan.....how did you do at Willow?

Beside the fact that my bike and myself stayed in one piece, it was the best experience on a motorcycle that I have ever had. What a rush. It was really neat learning so much and getting more confident/faster on each successive lap.

Turn 4 was tough, but I think I got it down pretty well by the end of the day. Turn 9 on the other hand made my pucker all day long. I had a tough time figuring out where I was in the turn as it is so long--not to mention the blind exit onto the straight. Next time I will try to get a reference point or two to help.

For the next new track I visit, I will be sure to print out the circuit and find a description of the proper lines. This is meaningless until you actually get to ride the track, but it will be very beneficial between the first few sessions.

I have already done this for Willow after the fact and made some notes/observations while its fresh.

Thanks BMC for the awesome opportunity.

PS--The very basis of this thread stems from my anticipated frequent participation in future track days.

Glad to hear that you had FUN and learned from the experience....and did not go down.

It has been a while since riding down at Willow, but I remember what you are referring to about turn 9......LONG sweeper to the right. FLAT AND FAST! you just keep rolling the throttle on and hang off.

If I remember correctly, turn 4 is the "Omega"....weird turn on a hillside

I only raced there about a half dozen times in the early 80's, but had fun every time.

I always have a soft spot for Sears Point though......a definite riders course
I have lost track of how many times, classes, laps I put in at SP

going to go there for the Inside Pass on the 17th.

gunna be weird to be on the track again and not racing. Don't even know if I can push (or want to) that hard again.

You remember correctly, Bob. I had a great time at Willow Spring and anticipate going to every Inside Pass there, but I think Buttonwillow will become my home track. It's probably 45 minutes to an hour closer to where I live and an easier drive as well.

Anyone got any stock wheels that are taking up valuable space in your garage?

any xb wheel will work. If you just want a spare set. There's an 1125r here in Austin with the polished/silvers wheels and it looks really good.

Thre fronts seem interchangable, but I was under the impression that the spocket and disc were flip flopped on the 1125r rear?

Straight swap, no issues, 7,700 miles on the amber wheels.

Love it. This opens a lot more opportunities to score some previously owned wheels. Anyone that hears of a person looking to sell some wheels, please direct them to me. I'll check the classified here...tomorrow...wiped out right now.
