My bike has a little to much oil in it and im wondering if they changed the oil mark for more oil or less before its too full. any one got the new dipstick yet?
its a frig to take just a small amount of oil out. but it needs to be done, im a little worried because i topped it off probably 100 miles ago on a trip and forgot to check it.
the actual oil line is at a 45 degree with the tip of the oil mark being 3/16 over the over fill line. it shouldnt hurt it, but i dont want to see.

45 degrees??? are you checking with the bike on the side stand??? The bike should be straight up and down when checking hot or cold. I always do cold check just as accurate as hot according to the updated check proceedure...

Nick

the bike is standing strait up when checked. the oil wants to run off the dipstick so the line of the oil wasnt strait across the dip stick. at its highest point it was 3/16 over the over fill line.

if ur at a gas station and dont have something to put under the side stand u can sit on the bike and reach down and unscrew and check the dipstick.

The new dipstick is the same except for the add amount changed from .5 to .25. The level marks appear to be in the same place.

okay thanks ill have to empty some then.
i cant imagine the little it was overfilled would hurt anything. possibly rob some power. actually its a dry sump system so now flywheel drag on this bike. but i should check the filter area though.
