Condensation from the exhaust on the rear tire nearly caused me to drop my bike a few days ago!! It just started getting cold (20s-30s) here in NY over the past few days. In the morning when I start up the bike it smokes (water vapor/condensation) a lot while it is warming up. I looked at it the other day and noticed that water was dripping off the back brake disk. I didn't even think about it until I was turning on the first street on the way to work and the bike nearly slid out from under me. The whole back tire had been drenched with condensation from the exhaust. Just an FYI. I didn't think about it until it happened to me. Mike | ||

i live in maine so this is something to seriously think about for me. im definitly goin to wipe my rear tire if its cold enough out. glad nothin serious happened | ||

Condensation kills rear brake performance, too! Your comments about water condensation of your rear tire got me thinking. I've always wondered why the rear brake didn't want to grab when cold and on the first couple of stops in the neighborhood. The rotor must be wet. Why did they aim the exhaust right at the brake rotor? I hope the aftermarket steps up with something soon. (with a different type of outlet) |
