Anyone else notice any oil misting onto the right side swing arm on their 1125R?

I noticed after running at higher speeds for log period of time that I had some oil that had leaked by the crankcase hose/gasket where it fits into the airbox and misted on back underneath the seat and out onto the swing arm side.

Also I tried to do a search on breather re-routes for the 1125R but found no links. Has anyone done one yet that looks clean. I know this was common mod on the Xb's.

When i opened the airbox, I was shocked at how clean it was (ie no oil from the breather line.) The little sponge at the top of the line wasn't even saturated. From what I can tell, there isn't much oil being sent back thru the airbox--unlike my XB where it was plain nasty the first time I went in there.

I had some oil in the airbox from the breather. It was not so much as you experienced. It was migrating towards the back of the airbox and had just started to get to the seat. This was at ~ 7000 miles.

I am not getting any in my airbox. I can see that the foam piece has some oil on it but it seems to just leak on down the side of the foam gasket housing and out the back. But I have only noticed it if running high speeds for long periods of time. Anything below 85 I have never had issue with the oil running out underneath the seat.

It seems like the crankcase breather is not sealing properly. Its only happened once in 3000 miles.

I think that breather housing is only connected to the breather tube by a zip tie. Next time you have the airbox off check and make sure the zip tie is tight and the tube is pushed all the way in.

It seems like, from what you described, the carry-over is leaking out before it reaches your breather, eventually enough oil can run down that tube and get on your engine making it look like you have a leak thats not really there, ie. base gasket or valve cover.

It is common to get carry-over at high speeds. The faster and longer you go at those speeds the more oil will be present.

my bad ... memory. The oil was as you describe ... on the outside of the airbox. It runs down from the crank breather foam and then back towards the seat.

Well I guess that's good. Not that the oil runs back towards the seat but that others are seeing it.

Next time I have it apart I will see what I can do to make it a little more seal tight.
