I plan to only use the full fairing/belly pan on the track so will not make the cuts required to use the kick stand. The kick stand is so tight on the underside of the bike you would have to cut a large piece of the pan to be able use it with the kickstand. | ||

I think that it might compromise the piece as you have to cut through the side and bottom on the pan for the kick stand to swing out. The body work does not come with any mounting hardware so you need to make your own and get creative. | ||

Josh(Jmr1283), do a search in the 1125 section of our forum using "lowers mounting" for key words and see my post for July 30th. from the archives as to how I mounted my Catalyst lowers on my stock uppers. Just one way of many I'm sure. | ||

The mounts are made of aluminum bar stock that you can get from Lowes. Not too tough to do. Figure out where you'd mount them, cut bar stock to length, form to get the angles you need, drill both ends, bolt it up (or dzus on the bodywork if you want). Good to go. Simple. At least you're not talking going out and getting fiberglass and resin. NO racing bodywork that I'm aware of comes complete with all required mounts. Buell, Honda, Suzuki, Yamaha - you name it - all the aftermarket race bodywork requires you to fabricate mounts yourself. | ||

Yeah - I've read about MANY folks who were surprised when their race bodywork on a GSXR needed different mountings and that they had to buy fairing stays AND re-mount their instruments. Just so you don't go into it thinking it's a bolt-on upgrade. Better have a long afternoon/evening set aside. | ||

There are some kits available for Buells that come complete with all hardware. I'm pretty sure it's from a sponsor too... I'll try and find out where I saw it and post back. | ||

Buell, Honda, Suzuki, Yamaha - you name it - all the aftermarket race bodywork requires you to fabricate mounts yourself. +1, we sell race bodywork for all sorts of bikes, Ducati, Honda, Suzuki, Yamaha, Buell....none of them include hardware or bracketry. The vast majority will use stock mounting points, although making up some simple alloy brackets is pretty quick & easy. Some people like to use QR fasteners, some use self tapping screws and captive nuts whilst others prefer to use nuts & bolts, so the manufacturers leave the choice of fasteners up to the customer. | ||

www.Grandstanddesigns.com (a BadWeb sponsor) does carry complete race bodywork sets as well as all hardware/brackets required for XBs. 1125R Owners: For those who are comfortable fabbing there own brackets, the 1125R fairings are in stock and ready to ship, however, the bracket/hardware portion of the 1125 kit is currently in development. For reference the XB hardware kit uses water jet cut SS brackets and 1/4 turn Quick release fasteners. Seth | ||

I purchased the 1125R body work (in the post above) from Grandstanddesigns and Pete was great to work with. The quality of the body work is excellent. Mounting the body work was not that big of a deal and a nice Saturday project. | ||

Hey Guys, One of the primary reasons that GrandStand Designs hasn't offered the mounting kit yet is I don't have an 1125 to mock it up on. Steve Haynes (Jerseyguy) is donating his bike to me in November/ December to work on a few new things. In the mean time, we have the bodywork, but everyone's on their own with the mounts. Hey Johnbranx1, Do you think there is a way to mount the left and right fairings securely without using the bellypan?? I want the full fairing look, but I don't plan to do that many track days with my 1125r. So I will love to have my kickstand at all times since it is more of a everyday commuter. | ||

You can use the side panels without the belly pan. You will just have to make some brackets to mount it on the side of the bike. Which is easy enough to do. I would also recommend putting an automotive adhesive backed heat barrier on the inside of the exhaust side fairing and belly pan. I was worried that the heat would ruin the pain and decals. However, once I installed the heat barrier no worries. | ||

Hey Johnbranx1, Is that a stock side pod u r using with your lower fairing? Or is it a one piece side fairing painted to look like the stock side pods??? I thought the flexi-glass was a 1 piece setup. But yours looks like 2 separate pieces. | ||

Choppercz, you are correct, it is a one piece painted to look like the stock pod. The side pod and lower panel are one piece. | ||
