The 1125R 12,400 miles service has labor set at 4.2 hrs.

Hmm, I signed an invoice at my dealer with 6.5 hours quoted for the same service... Why the discrepancy?

Can't tell you why. I got my info from my dealer this weekend since I set an appt. for my service and I inquired about the cost.
One of those YMMV, I guess.

Do you know if your dealer has done this service on another 1125R before? Perhaps this is the actual time it takes their tech in their experience?
My shop has not done this service for anybody else yet (most riders here are pansy fair-weather-riders).

I'm the second person at the dealership to get the 12.4K service. The tech spent 10 hrs on the first one. He expect to spend about 6 hrs on mine since he has been through it.
The allotted time for the service is 4.2 hrs and that is what the tech gets paid for and I charged for.

The tech has had Buell training.

um hate to hijack the thread a bit but of all the other threads, it seems to fit here....

I am looking at the 1125r but also looking at the 1125cr. Looking at the specs side by side, there arent any differences. I know the Headlight/fairing is different and the handlebars are different (clipons vs clubman bars). What else? Which is better? Is it a personal preference? What are y'alls opinion?

CR is geared lower.

The CR has lower gearing in the belt drive resulting in a little quicker acceleration at the trade off to top speed. I would take the lower gearing because I wont be using top speed on the street too often. You will have MUCH better wind protection on the R. I like 'naked' bikes with tall bars and I like the ability to change the bars pretty easily but I dont know if I would trade that off knowing how nice the wind coverage is on the R

And just to spell it out, the gearing on the R can be changed to the CR spec by swapping in the CR's sprocket and belt.

Kalavera: Totally personal preference. Neither is better or worse, they just suit different purposes... Like the XB12R vs. XB12S.

Hmm, so if you made this swap how would you address the belt slack as the CR swing arm is just a tad longer than the r?

I think they use the same belt?

Hmm, it appears you may be correct about the swing arm being longer... The CR is 4/10ths of an inch (1.016 cm) longer overall and in wheelbase.

I'm 99% certain they use a different belt though.

Paul check out annon's post in the thread below.

He implies the longer swing-arm on the CR is to address belt tension.

I assume from this it uses the same belt.

I asked an Anon about this very thing, and the belt, pulley AND swingarm are all different on the CR in order to keep the belt geometry within spec (tention being a part of that), angles and tension. You would need to change all three to get the CR's gearing.
