So here I am about an hour and a half or so from famous Willow Springs... Duggram
thread prompted me to do some searching and I found out that Willow was much closer than I had anticipated! I am eager to take my bike to the track, and Willows site had several organizations listed for m/c owners to call for track days (WSMC, Moto Forza, etc.) I was wondering if anyone had any experience with any of these, or if there was a better way of going about starting out?

There is a Buell sponsored Inside Pass day at Willow Springs on 11/3. Several of us will be there. No sure if there are any openings...

Pain, you want to talk to Slaughter.
Your best chance to catch him is on the Southern California thread in the Stormfronts section or the circuit racing threads in the racing section.

http://www.trackexperience.com

http://www.fastrackriders.com

BOTH have excellent instruction. Good info on their websites on setup and prep, gear requirements, etc.

A little more budget but still a good "squid filter" is http://www.trackdaz.com - just don't expect much in the way of instruction from them.

There are others with cheaper prices but they don't tend to filter the squids and they minimize the staff. The 3 I've mentioned have cornerworkers at the major corners, not just in a stand at start/finish. I've ridden with the above - know some of the staff or owners. All are good - but I'd lean toward Track Experience or Fast Track Riders for the available instruction.

Keith Code, Pridmore, run on Streets of Willow with organized classes.

If you CAN make it to the Inside Pass day on 11/3, it is being run by Sportbike Track Time. We've run with them over the years - although they don't regularly operate on Willow any longer, they do run a tight ship. Sunny has done a number of Femmotos with them in Vegas and Pahrump.

Having ridden with TrackExperience, that $135 is an AWESOME deal and you really ought to give it some thought if there's any way you could swing it. If you have ever thought about Michelins, the Racer's Edge crew KNOW their tires - they are the trackside Michelin provider on all Willow races. Dale Kieffer is a great guy and can answer ALL your questions about Michelin for street and track.
