I have the harbor freight kit. Ive done about 4 tires now, and it keeps getting easier. as I relearn all the tricks. I can change a tire in less time then it takes me to drive to my dealer.

You can dispose of old tires at Wal Mart for $1.50 or something.

Mounting the tire changer to the floor is a headache. If you have a truck, setting it up to mount to a trailer hitch would probably not be a bad idea, though you might end up launching a tire iron through the back window someday...

The No-Mar live demo reminded me of a rigged carnival act.

anyone interested in a No-Mar bar changer that has been used once? It's in perfect condition.}

I have put about 6500 miles on my corsa III's this season, and they are still going strong. Sure, I don't ride very hard, and they are profiled...but no chords showing and definitely not bald.

Is it possible, as with 25r, that there are also bad runs of tires out there that are only getting 2000 miles on them?

6000 miles out of a CorsaIII is EXCELLENT!

I just peeled off a set after three track days that still have some useful center tread, and they will go on my Ulysses for street riding, but the very edges of the tires are burnt.

Figure they have about 400 miles on them. : )

You're killing me Chad...I would love to have three track days under my belt...I really wish you guys would stop rubbing that sort of thing in our noses...

Get thee to the racetrack!

I typically do about 6 or 7 track days each year.

I recently completed the Ed Bargy Race School, and can now run as a provisional novice in WERA. I'm strongly considering trying to do a couple of races next season, just to do it. I won't win, but I'd rather be in last place on the track, than sitting in the stands wishing I was on the track.

Track days are the most fun I've ever had with my clothes on. : )

Hey Chad, I just finished my first trackday weekend. The rubber on my Corsa III's are all balled up but the tread is still deep. How can I tell when they are "burnt"?

I run DC IIIs on my track bike (Triumph 675). I get 5 track days out of them, and they are pretty cooked.

The balled up rubber you see is from the rubber picked up off the track.

Your tires will be "burnt" when they are either bald, misshapen (meaning they are worn flat on the sides leaving a "ridge" to push over when turning in), or they have been through enough heat cycles to "dry out" the tire and make it hard.

Unless you were setting track records, I seriously doubt you will have scorched a set of DOT street tires in one day. Race rubber, perhaps, but not street tires.

6000 miles out of a Corsa III is Great!!!! I got roughly 3800 out of mine.

For a tire that doesn't hold a corner well, I was able to hang with a fellow Buell rider on the track who was running race slicks...

And no, he wasn't sandbagging it either!!

That being said, I do believe I pushed a Sport touring tire to it's limit on the track (without crashing). The tire also performed great in the rain!
