Why would you want one over the other?

Will ECMSpy work with the 1125?
I didn't know that was an option.

I guess the question is this: is the EFI system on the 1125 the same as on the XB's? I don't see any reference to it being used on 1125's on the site. If so, that's great, because the ECMSpy is free, and the Buell race ECU is not even available unless you have a race license, and therefore may as well be made out of dilithium crystals and transparent aluminum. (sorry, my Inner Geek was showing there for a minute...)

Well since the 1125R is not supported by ECMspy and developed has ceased on it. The Race ECM it the only option until someone comes out with a product.

I would guess that DDFI-3 was developed for the 1125 models, and then applied to the XB line for production/maintenance simplicity. Either way, it's the same system for both model lines.

I didn't know that they started using the DDFI-3 on the XB's. That start in 08?

Is the DDFI-3 that is on the early 08 XB'a the same as on the 08 1125R? Because ECM Spy does work with the 08 XB. At leas t the one I tired it on.

DDFI-3 started on the XBRR..

All the 08 models with build date on the frame 07 are programmable with ECMSPy, the later models ECM 08 build date on the frame are not. the ECM is protected and not in the ECMSPY data.

DDFI-3 is ONLY on the 1125 models and is NOT working with ECMSPY

Techno research say the have a solution for the 1125 i did'nt try it yet and they have a working solution for the later 08 models XB

I guess Buell.com is a misprint on the XB models that now use DDFI-III.
