it's going to be tough to beat the stocker for street use yup, that's even tru for the xb12 model exhaust. most off theme are noise makers, not Hp makers |

+1 JP....I have ALWAYS like the stock can for both its looks and engineering...I for one have never been one of the "look at me and my LOUD bike" types. Matter of fact, loud bikes are plain offensive |

For me, that was the coolest thing about the drummer I had on the XB12S... Just the right amount of rumble to it. Not obnoxious, but with some character. After all, this is not a Toyota Camry we're talking about... I think it's a personal choice, and I respect that, but I like a little noise. And then there's the whole "loud pipes save lives" thing Rob |

Borrowed from TwoBuells: Buell is coming out with an ECM update on Monday 9/15 and that will take care of the Gas boiling issue. And I just picked up my 1125r(t) from it's 12.4k mile service. Guess she will be headed back. Later Neil S. |

Neil, Tell us about your 12.4K Service, if you don't mind... Cost? Duration? Specs? Thanks! |

on the exhaust issue, the outlet on the stocker is what's gonna make me replace it. When I picked Blackie Onassis up they had her all cleaned up. By the time I got her home, about 45 miles of riding, the back wheel had soot all over it again already. I don't like anything real loud and I don't like the looks of most of the after market stuff out there cuz I don't think they fill out the underside of the bike. The one I kinda like is the Remus so far. Doesn't sound too loud, fills out the underside well and the exit isn't pointed at the freakin wheel. |

I agree blf. The Remus, to me, is the best of the aftermarket crop. It seems to have enough volume (capacity, not noise), doesn't leave a hole under the bike, and angles the exhaust away from the rear wheel. As much criticism as has been leveled at the stocker for its appearance, I have to say I haven't seen an aftermarket one that's an improvement on it yet. I want to see the Drummer effort, and hope that Staintune will do one some day. They will do it right. Jack |

yup if nothing else is available next year at tax return time, I'll get the Remus. I'd like to see the drummer too, but wait time could be brutal. He has a hard time keeping up with demand. IIRC, some people waited over a year from time of order for a SS drummer for the XB's. |

I supplied the oil, oil filter, air filter and, spark plugs. They supplied the labor. Labor plus tax was $420.00. That was a little over 4 hours plus tax at a shop rate of $88/ hr. A few things the Dealer should have on hand: valve cover gaskets and the gaskets for the headers into the muffler. I dropped her off Wednesday evening and picked her up on Saturday. Could have been sooner but I had some schedule conflicts. |

Hi Easy, what Octane fuel are you using in these dyno runs? |

Sheep: I Use 95 octane... Here is a Dyno form the remus?. Be aware that the sound is oke but the performance is not. This is done with a good Fuel Map for the stock nd the REMUS. And a lot of playing with the timing and Fuell to try to get the best performance.

Do you have 98 ron available? We also have a 100 ron (5% ethanol) that we can legally use for racing in Australia |

Sheep, Yes we have... How more octane with high temp, the better.. |

Do I need to send you my race ECM for you to tune or can you just send me the map and I update? For example if I get you to map K&N filter with stock exhaust, and then buy your race exhaust system (when you finalize one)can you send me the modified map to go with exhaust (and would this be in the cost of the exhaust system or additional?) |

Sheep, I need the ECM, I have to be 100% sure when I test it here all works fine, It's also the timing map, and some other little details (-; |

Easy, someone suggested that the amount of "slip" at the clutch may be adjusted in the race ECM http://www.badweatherbikers.com/cgibin/discus/show .cgi?tpc=290431&post=1255856#POST1255856 Have you encountered anything along these lines? |

You need a current race license and about $775.00 to get the race ECM. |

Do you need a race license to get the steering damper or reverse shift kit (assuming it is available now?) |

The STOCK(?) slipper clutch being adjusted via the ECU or RACE ECU? Where and when did I miss all this?! I'm not calling this "impossible" but I'd really like to understand how a fluid/mechanical system could be altered from a digital source when there appears to be no link? Possibly one is thinking that altering the idle air bypass and/or timing to vary the kpa @ the clutch diaphram under certain decel/loadpoints? Again, I'm not saying this is "impossible" but I am calling out this "one" for a complete explanation. All hears... ...as I seek to learn for sure. mm |

Very relevant to this thread's origin... "The updates are live in the US, not something a dealer has to wait for, although many are not yet aware. As soon as a US dealer has his/her Digital Tech machine online (and many are permanently on-line), the download is automatic as of earlier today, and it is then available to whatever 1125R is hooked up to the machine. Mixture is not richer, it's now correctly done at exactly the right time and the spark map is now right, which was the biggest issue. The bikes will not only run better, they will be cooler and the fuel mileage will be significantly better. I can't say any more and I shouldn't be here. It is a very good update. Just do it!" Per Anonymous in the 09 ECU update thread as if you didn't already know! Test on & keep this thread alive and learning! mm |

Will the new flash hurt the top end power? Anyone? I can't wait until people get the flash and report in... Just hope that it happens before warm weather disappears... |

I just put 50 miles on the NEWEST flash. SOOOOOOO good. CT stays below 195 in city. MPG up 25%. DO IT! Thanks for doing the right thing Buell. Shout out to Liberty HD in Rahway! |

Got mine done today, can ride 6th gear at 50mph with no problem. Runs perfect at speed and much improved low speed city driving. MPG seems up some but is too soon to see how much. |

Got mine done today too. MUCH better under 4k, saw a mpg increase from 37 mpg (mainly highway) in the 40 miles to the dealer to 42 mpg (same route, more traffic in the few miles off highway) on the way home. I consider my bike "fixed", even if I didn't consider it broken in the first place. |

Ok...so we are off to a great start on the "modded" 09 flash for 08's. I added that because it is slightly different, as stated, from the 09's due to injectors/relocated o2's. Myself and another 08 owner are trying to arrange having ours done at the same dealership this weekend and comparing notes. Both of our bikes have similar mild mods. I'm very curious to see if we note any difference in AFV's. While we know from all the previous data that OL seems aok, I'm wondering if the timing issues with both the injector shot and the spark timing had prior constraints on the AFV learning curve...relevant to 0502 flash. Did anyone record their old AFV's and are your new learned ones different? mm |

Slypiranna, my AFV's were both at 99.5 before the flash and are at 100 after the flash, but I only rode to work. I'll keep an eye on it. |
