Very few know the real/whole story concerning Mike and his situation.
That being the case, would any one of the members here really appreciate some of this threads content, if the shoe were on the other foot?

When this bike first came out some of us did have some very unique electrical problems. Baggermike was no exception. His dealer checked it out a few times and sent him on his way. The dealer slightly misinformed him on what the bikes electrical system could support from the charging system. This caused lots of headaches for him. At that time my bike was working normally as far as the electrical system. I did some tests on my bike as of what the electrical system could support and still maintain the battery. It was much different than what the dealer told him. After that he knew what loads the bike could support at what RPMS and I think that helped him out.
I bought a new bike so I would not have to work on it and could just ride. It didn't turn out that way for me either. I know some people just don't need the extra stress with all the other stuff in their lives and I feel the same way sometimes. A new bike should be nearly problem free from the start and stay that way for quite some time.
Lets give the man a break!

There was LOTs of mis-information floating around at that time and most of it stemmed from the service departments and BMC itself...I don't want to relive those days |

Yeah, this sounds better.
Mike's a real good guy with a great big heart.
He just wanted to do too much too soon to his bike.
Fix any bugs, then farkle.
Sorry to see him let the bike go, he really did like it.

He now is in possesion of two brandy new Harley-Davidsons.Less than a week old.He is very happy now. |

Good to hear. Last message I got from him was he was probably going to be trading them in and going back to Harley's.
He eventually regretted selling his bagger. After seeing the pics of his customized by him bagger I can see why. |

I bear the man no ill will, and don't even know if he was wrong or right.
But anyone that thinks it wasn't as confusing as heck to have even a basic dialogue with him wasn't paying attention.
And I don't mean that as a slam, just an observation. A tall guy won't do well in a Ford Fiesta. Somebody who communicates like Mike did won't do well trying to run down odd problems with a new model motorcycle.
I have lots of sympathy for Mike, he was in a tough situation. And I have lots of sympathy for people in a position of trying to help him.
I certainly wish him the best and harbor no ill will. |

Good luck to the bloke. I've got 7 Buells in my shed and wouldn't really consider riding anything else. However, after 6 months I've still got a bike that's dribbling clutch fluid (parts are on back order - inexcusable) and this has left a sour taste
Next time I buy a bike, I may reconsider brands. Sadly, BMC is not helping it's very poor reputation in the UK. A great shame considering the potential of the 1125 when it's full developed. |

It took a lot of thinking to understand what Mike was saying. He had good intentions but some of his thinking was confused. Great guy trying to push the envelope in too many directions at once.
Just my $0.02 on a big hearted rider.

He traded in the Uly and the 1125R. He got his son a Cross Bones and he got a Fat Bob.
Looks like he is keeping the Blast and since he does not drive a cage he is going to put studs in the tires to try and ride it during the winter.
He was thinking of a Ural for the winter but looks like he is going forward with the Blast. |

I put quite a few hours into trying to help the guy, and would consider him a friend. I wouldn't hesitate to try and help him more if I could, and don't doubt he would do the same for me if the opportunity came up. |
