Well the roads here finally dried up for the most part except for a few spots, so I went to my back yard play ground twisties for about 45 minutes of debauchery. All I can say is WOW! What a fun bike. A few observations. Love ZTL 2. Hydraulic clutch is awesome. Cable clutches should be outlawed. Slipper clutch works great. Even though the dry weight on 25r is only about 20 lbs or so less than my old CityX, it feels like it's about 100 lbs lighter in the twisties. Handling in the twisties is effortless. The surging around 3500 is definitely noticeable, but pick up the rpms just a bit and it really smooths out. The rear suspension is a little stiffer than I like, gonna fiddle with it this weekend to get her the way I like. In conclusion, GET ONE! | ||

"GET ONE" is right. I didn't even test ride mine before I made the purchase. LOL. I was told by a buddy of mine who test rode one not to test ride before I bought. He told me that it might hinder the negotiation process on the my 04 XB12R trade in. He couldn't have been more right. I didn't even have my bike with me when I made the deal. The next day I rode my 04 to the dealer and picked up my new 1125R. I have to admit that I did hate to see my XB12 go but the 1125R is awesome. This is a much needed step for Buell. The bike is amazing. I was all smiles on the way home with the bike. LOL. I did talk with the 1125R mechanic about the surging around 3500 rpms and he let me know that Buell is still working on a new fuel mapping program to fix it. I've only got 300mi on mine so far and can't wait till I get her broke in so I can test out more of the potential that this bike has. | ||

The stumble on mine is a very narrow rpm range, 3500-3800. From 3900 up, no issues. We should be getting the fix soon, but not having it hasn't hindered my enjoyment. I know where the trouble spot is, and avoid it. The only time I couldn't avoid it was a 20 mph school zone. My fix, stay away from active school zones! | ||

The stumble hasn't bothered me a bit. I have had mine for one week and now have 730 miles on it and all done with a smile. It kicks ass over my XB12. "Get ONE" I agree. No regrets here. | ||

How do you guys think the ZTL 2 compares to conventional braking systems? The magazines seem to think it is wooden and overheats more easily. Have you guys ridden other sport bikes to compare them to? Have you had any trouble with brake feel or overheating? | ||

compared to ztl 1, way better. I haven't really pushed them too hard yet as the motor is still in break in mode. I have only the ztl 1 to compare to. |
