I've been waiting a year and now I finally got my 1125!! Took 10 hours at the dealership but it was worth every minute.

I sold my Firebolt a year ago and bought a Speed Triple. Great bike but I just wasn't truly happy. Traded the Triple today and I'm absolutely syked! Don't know if I spelled that right but don't really care. I like a lot of bikes but I'll always have a Buell in my stable!

I've got to give a shout out for Old Glory HD & Buell in Laurel, MD where I got the R. These guys actually are very heavy into the Buells. Many guys in there have ridden the 1125 at a track day and they love 'em. First dealership I've seen that didn't try to hide the Buells in a corner. Great crew all together. I highly recommend them. If you go, tell them Mike from NC sent ya.

Gonna spend the day riding tomorrow. Check with ya later.

Did they tag you for full price? They and Annapolis still had full MSRP on them a couple weeks ago.

Congrats, go have fun on some twisty roads.

I have always liked the Speed Triple. Still do. I came close to buying one while waiting for my 11 to _finally_ be built. Glad you enjoyed yours - and congrats on the new ride!

Just to show you how subjective opinions on beauty are.... I took my 84 year old Father to see the S3 while I was considering buying it. My Dad has been involved in my riding since I was 14, and likes to keep up with the new stuff. While I'm standing there, admiring the Triple, he says, "Damn - that thing fell out of the ugly tree.." Sorta spoiled the moment... But, he loves the 11, so we are back on the same page. : )

Oddball,

Yes they got me for full price. They did some really creative accounting down there because I was "upside down" on the Triple.

Paid a little extra but the payment is one I can live with. Sometimes you just gotta do whatcha gotta do.

If anyone is interested in a Speed Triple, there's one at Old Glory HD. It only had 1,918 miles on it. They gave me full price for trade since it was in such good condition.

Catch ya'll later.

Don't worry about what you paid for it, it's only money. Enjoy the ride and have fun, it's what it's all about in the end.

Had a full day of riding, about 180 miles worth of twisties, straights and a little drag from the stop lights. Absolutely flawless bike. Exceptional ride!

I was with the bunch waiting for the '09 model but I'm glad I didn't. This bike is absolutely awesome.

You're right Madav8tr, don't worry about the money, just have fun.

Now if someone could catch me up on what disconnecting the solenoid is for I'd be very grateful. I read about it a while back but just don't remember.

Thanks to all. Don't wait for the '09, get yours now!!

Like I always say, "it's only money, poor people live with out it."

I only got to put about 50 miles on mine when I got it yesterday b4 I had to skip town for a few days. but I love it and have no regrets so far.

Don't worry about the solenoid question, already did the mod.

Holy Sh%# what a difference! Tons more power and smooth at 3000 RPM. Like another 30 horsepower when banging thru the gears on the highway. Feels like a different bike. I highly suggest disconnecting the 'noid if you haven't. Throttle response is much quicker as well.

Happy Riding!

Usmoto - unhooking the solenoid fixed the stumble at 3-4K RPM?

Bigdog_tim,

Yes for me it fixed the stumble at 3K. My bike didn't like 3K at all. It also seems to have more power when I give the throttle a good twist.

I posted this in another section. I didn't lock the linkages together. After my little inspection of it and tinkering with it, I don't see how it's going to move on it's own and didn't think it was necessary.

Of course if I learn otherwise in the future I'll lock them.

Cool beans man. I hope you like the new ride.

I think the spelling is psyched but I could be wrong too.

Now that I see the word I think you're right Gschuette. I believe it is spelled psyched. Thanks

Update:

Went back to the dealer and got the $675 merchandise deal. They said they thought they mentioned it and they might have.
In my brain I was doing back flips because of finally getting the 1125 so I probably didn't hear it.

All is well. Bike is performing great.
