My buddy came up with a theory about sport bikes...Dimers. That you take 12 sport bikes on the road, and usually you'll get 95% or so an r6/r1, gsxr, ninja, etc etc etc. So we call them dimers, cause they're a dime a dozen. Nothing against them, it's just that everyone has one.

Well, coming back from CO for the summer I had some extra cash, and had an opportunity to jump on a screaming good deal....so here she is. Tatiana, AKA Bad Karma.

Damnit man, if you can't beat em, join them!

So now Tzena has a bunkmate : )

Nice : ) I am thinking of doing the same thing myself, but of the Kawasaki persuasion. Salvage title? How much you in it in the end? Track day plans in the near future...

yeah after I saw Kane (sp?) stunt on his ZX-6 at the suzuki superbike challenge earlier this year in cali, I wanted a kawi pretty bad. But this one popped up...

Clean title : ) The thing was never claimed, and mechanically is clean. HAD they claimed it, the plastics etc would have totaled her out, but they didn't, so sweet!

$1200 for the bike, $125 for the right front rotor (once it gets here and gets installed), $40 or so for rattle cans etc, and then a dinner for my buddy who did a bunch of the work. All told just over $1400 for a clean titled 04 r6 with just over 11k miles, a micron exhaust and power commander. Can't complain :-D

Sweet deal! I can only wish to find one like that. : ) Hoping to get my hands on an 03-04 ZX-6 for about $1500. Trying to hold my mouth right at this point.

lol yeah it's a killer deal. I couldn't say no! GL with the find man, these things, though they have no souls and no torque down low, are really fun to throw around : )

Who me? If so, then, yes twice. Great bike but I'm not racing a bike that I can't afford to throw away. The 'ole R6 is set up nicely and it will rock and roll.

That looks sweet all black! I think I may have to borrow that all black idea : )

The R6 make a nice track bike? I've known a couple guys that switched from Suzukis to R6 and hated them. I'm guessing it was probably in their heads.

I'm sure it's all in their heads. But then I haven't tracked any of my bikes yet so I have no idea : )

Rubber, how much did you drop into your R6 to make it race ready, if you don't mind me asking.

I bought it set up from an AMA guy. I've got about $5k in it. The suspension's been worked and has a new Penske triple in the rear. Full Ti Force exhaust with mapping. Computracted. Race cases, rearsets, race skins, some other nice bits ... It came with spares and spare wheels, brakes .... It had less than 1200 miles on it. Turn key and runs great. Salvaged bike tho. I could have gotten cheaper but I was on the track the day after I got it and racing the next week so it was really painless. The 600's are fun classes as they are always populated and fast. I always wanted to experience hurtling off into T1 in a big pack of highly motivated 600's. The experience surpasses the expectation.

I thought about race-prepping a 12R I had but for a novice like me I knew I spend a LOT of time chasing my tail trying to get it set-up. This has worked out well for me for now.

Alert: shameless self-promotion ahead

Second weekend out. 8 in my class about 25-27 on the grid. Thrilling!

Dude congrats!! Just sounds nuts...I don't leave close to a track at all, unfortunately...but I might be moving to Tokyo here shortly and I'm sure there's not a single track over there ; )

But yes...flying into T1 in a pack of highly motivated riders would just be awesome! Just riding around town with the buddies is great, let alone getting a couple of us on the track. Man!!
