Well, I have been lurking around here for a while and reading about things here and there. I purchased a new 1125r from Ozark Harley Davidson in Missouri about three weeks ago. So far so good. I really enjoy the ride on this bike. I know some people have had issues with their bikes but hopefully I won't run into all those problems.

To start with my bike was manufactured in JUNE, I asked the dealer if there were any recent updates at the time of purchase (JULY) and he said no, but I will check again for my 600 mile service. The bike already has 240 miles on it, I try to ride it every afternoon and just pick a road and go down it. Streetwise the bike performance is great minus the chattering when you are forced to cruise at slower speeds. I have been trying to compensate as to not maintain a constant RPM. I already have a Tail Tidy on it. I highly recommend everyone get one. : ) Great quality kit as well, very impressed. I guess the next thing for me will be sliders and frame pucks, I wish someone out there had a kit put together so I could just order a whole damn set and not try and piece them all together. Any recommendations for that? I think I may wait for the K&N until they get their crap together, I have been bombarding them with requests for it as well. And then there is the exhaust thing...

Not sure what to get, I am not a fan of uber load exhausts, but something throatier than stock so cages can hear me would be nice. As a gear head I prefer Magnaflow exhausts, too bad I cannot seem to find the Buell equivalent. Well hopefully soon I will post up some pics of the bike and I am sure to keep lurking here and there. Thanks for all the input good, bad or indifferent from everyone! And if anyone has any recommendations for a new owner please chime in!

You won't be putting frame pucks on it. The pods are your frame protection. Do the axle sliders asap, they could save you a lot of money. See some of the crash pics here in the 1125 forum.

congrats on the new scoot, and welcome to the badweb. you'll never be the same.

sliders work and the pods are pretty damn tough themselves.

Awesome, I knew the side pods were for that reason, but man, I'd really rather be forced to tear up something less pretty? I gotcha though, frame pucks prolly wouldn't help a damn bit anyways. Alright so, for tire pressure, I see everyone has different input on it, but for a stock 1125r and a rider who cruises the streets and is NOT knee draggin or getting silly through any twisties what would a general purpose tire pressure setting be? I have been on the interstate just a few times, less than 30 minutes each time. Most of the riding is around town and the occasional cruise down the road. The tires themselves do have a reccomended setting, but I am curious to see what you all run for daily driving conditions? Thanks again!

Side pods only cost $55 to replace. As far as tire pressure, I run what the book says 34 front and 36 rear.

Welcome. You'll like the bike. I am not too far away from you. I live in Tulsa and occasionally ride over to Arkansas and Southern Missouri. Great roads over there.

I am enjoying it very much so far. I need to find some more local Buell guys here in town and see if there are any get togethers. My roomate's Buell should be showing up later this week so there's two for the garage. I need to take a nice picture of my garage and it's toys. 2005 Silverado SS *GT-67 Turbocharger, FMIC, Methanol Injection, etc...1987 Buick Grand National, many a mod, currently being prepped *soon* for a paint job... and now the finest edition...2008 Buell 1125r.* I love being single with no kids.

As a side note, will an exhaust void the warranty on these bikes? I plan on calling the dealer when they open tomorrow and asking, but I am curious to see if there are loop holes like most automakers have due to SEMA. IE: Part in question must be directly linked to the mechanical failure or issue involved. IE: Putting a K&N filter on a motor doesn't have any direct effect on the transmission going out while under warranty. - Example

I'll keep reading in the meantime, have a great week everyone!

UPDATE - Called the dealer and spoke with them. They really don't care what I do to the bike so long as I don't reprogram the ECM. He said that would be the only issue they have, so K&N, exh, etc is all good to go here. Now where do I order a D&D from... the search continues.
