I went to my local dealer and test rode an 1125r, it stalled 4 times when stopping,it belched through the air box 3 times. When I got back to the dealership to shut it off it would not stop running!! the starter was stuck. After the service Manager and I rocked back in gear the starter popped out. He tried to restart, battery dead. So I did what any buell junkie would do I put a deposit on one. Not the demo though. I have read all the posts I can read here good and bad. Here is the question.... he the dealer has 4 to pick from 2 are 07 builds with the jet deal on 5th gear. 2 are late 08 builds which did not need the jet deal, which is better and why? All have the latest flash from BMC. All opinions appreciated even from "Anonymous". I have no problems with the dealer I used to work there years ago. I know they wont leave my hanging as far as fixing it. Boy the 1125r sure is different from my S2T.

Thanks for your opinions

Scott

Sounds to me like you can have the pick of the litter. The earlier bikes have been brought up to snuff with the latest updates.

I'll bet a dollar that the dealer sent you out on a demo bike with a weak battery. Without proper battery strength, the ECM is not happy and wreaks havoc on what would have been a smooth ride.

So, whichever one you choose of the 4, make sure the dealer fully charge the battery before you take ownership.

Mine is a Nov 07 with 9,500 miles and minimal trouble.

Yep all those symptoms come from a low battery. If you have waited this late in the game buy a 2009. Has an updated charging system and better gearing for the street. And some sweet new colors. And they forgot to make a yellow one. Bastages...

The gearing change is only on the CR.

New for the R in 09 is ecm flash, fuel injectors and relocated O2 sensors. New colors as well.

Mine's an '07 build and is performing very well. For the same price, I would go for the latest build, just on principle, but if they will give a better deal on the older units...

I picked up a March of 08 build date and love it!!! None of these issues other than a slight low end surge....I paid 12800.00 out the door with 675.00 in extras. I took the bags and a cover , jacket etc. This bike is a blast to ride good luck!
