Okay, I know there are a ton of threads out there regarding the new 1125CR, but... it's late, I'm bored, and I feel like hearing myself talk.

I've had my XB12R for a season and a half at this point and have loved every minute of it. This bike is everything I've wanted in a bike after the things I've done to it. I can throw some bags on it and ride 1000 miles no sweat, or tear it up on the back roads like it was born to do - all with great looks, great sound and some serious attitude.

However, being a certified motorcycle nut, I have been constantly searching for another bike, either as a second or as a replacement. The problem is there were literally NO bikes out there, for any price, that I feel I could have bought that I would prefer riding over my Firebolt. The 1125R piqued my interest, but I could never get past the high-nosed fairing (the pods have never been an issue for me). While I've longed for a "modern" engined machine, none have really grabbed my attention all that much and looked to be a better package than my XB12R (the closest contender was a Interceptor, but the ancient suspension, heavy weight and low power was too much to give up).

Until now.

Enter the 1125CR.

Holy cow. Now, I have yet to even test ride an 1125, so I can't speak for the engine, but based on everyone's reactions on here I don't think I'll be disappointed. There are so many reasons to like this bike. Personally, I love the styling. The new fairing (or lack thereof) fixes everything that was aesthetically wrong with the 1125R for me. The Firebolt-styled tail means that my Givi luggage setup will fit on with no issues, the suspension and brakes are better than what I have now, and 146hp is hard to argue with.

My only concerns are the teething issues. The heat, stumbling and fuel-mileage have all been addressed for the '09s. I'm holding my breath in hopes that all this has been fixed. Once I start hearing that the issues have been resolved, and I get a test-ride on an 1125R just to get a feel for the engine, my dealer will get a deposit from me.

I think I would be able to buy this bike, throw a pipe on it (so far the Jardine has the best looks for me), get some smaller turn signals and do something with the mirrors, and I would VERY happy with it. A bike that can loft the wheel with just power in 3rd gear doesn't need much more power in my book - I'm not that good, lol.

I can't wait for this. I haven't been this giddy over a motorcycle since...well, the last time I bought a Buell.

I am in the same boat. I think I need to see it in person and sit on it. The CityX is awesome for me, but my wife wants to ride with me again, so I need a long wheelbase Buell to fit 2-up more comfortably. The Ss is attractive (mostly because of the TT suspension), but if I am going to replace my street fighter, might as well step up to the most current offering. Plus, I like the R/CRs more aggressive geometry, same as the short wheelbase bikes - reminds me of something more like an S1. Now if the long travel TT suspension was on the CR with more travel, and ground clearance, but the aggressive geometry I would be sold in a second. I just don't want to give up anything on what makes my CityX so damned fun.

Say - is the shock mounting on the XB long wheelbase the same as the 1125 chassis? I wonder if I could put TT suspension on the CR... anyone?

I still am attracted to the Uly (love the the suspension, tall ride, and the ability to hit dirt and go on an adventure ride if I wanted to), but the CR represents the future of Buell and looks waaay better than the 1125R and its goofy alien faring.

Although, with everything blacked out now, the black almost looks too black, but I am not sure I want red - what color do you want? I think I'd go back.

I think I'll hold out a year and watch what people say.

I would get a black one, no questions.

However, I also agree that the blacked-out look is almost too black. I wish the forks were still silver, and I'll probably repaint the heel guards and things to match the engine paint (like last years model). A lot of the bike seems to just blend into itself right now, but this is minor. Nothing a little paint can't fix.

Maybe the blending-in a.k.a. stealth look was intentional.

BTW, the Givi luggage was a custom job. PM me if you want to know more.

Neil - I know your luggage setup was custom, as was mine. Remember how mine only ties into the passanger seat mount? The fact that tail frames are different won't matter for me in this case.

I'm sure the stealth look was intentional, but for me, some days I like it and some days I don't. Maybe in person it won't bother me so much. It does look kind of bad-assed the way it is, lol
