Dont try getting any air on the buell 1125 I did today on a old rr track crossing that was totally paved but had a nice little lip for a little air at 80Mph I hit it got about 20 inches of air with suspension fully extended and when I landed which was really smooth my exhaust scrapped on the bottom and put a dent in the front of the pipe more like a flat spot 2 inches round and quater inch indentation. So all in all dont get any air if you dont want your pipe to scrape. It was fun at the moment till i looked and my bud said sparks were flying when I landed.Better luck flying with a D&D pipe .ha

In survival...this is something that we would call self critiquing.

Do we really need to be warned that jumping our bike nearly 2 feet off the ground at 80 mph could do damage?

I did that on my first XB9, about 80 cresting a sharp hill, same result.
It was a rush. Just wish I had video. Haven't done it since.

Ya i wish I had a video to tape it but dont think Ill be doing it again soon. And hell ya it was a rush.It just a shame that the pipe/suspension clearance is proportioned to also keep the pipe from crushing on a flat surface .Thats what this post is about.watch your suspension clearance!!!!

Next time try adjusting the damping all the way up to absorb the impact.

Thats not a dent, its a Race Radius.

The XB's will do the same thing...

IN addition to proper sag and increased compression damping, increased tire pressure would likely help too.

LOL, I thought I was the only one who dented the bottom of their pipe. My issue is I can't stand sitting in traffic. So, from time to time, I'll jump an occasional curb to escape traffic hell. Maybe Buell needs to weld a skid plate on the bottom...
