Can anybody confirm if another recall has just been announced for the sidestand - or am I being fed more bull ? Still being fed conflicting stories regarding the gearbox recall - HD in the UK are saying that the kits should be at the dealers and to speak to them - the dealer's are saying that they don't have any recall kits and I have to wait for an official letter and then they will order the kit in. | ||

Hmm, I'm confused, I don't know whose "bull" is correct. AFAIK, no recall seen/ heard over on this side of the "pond" for the sidestand. 7200 s'miles and no sidestand issues. Later Neil S. | ||

No recall on 1125R sidestands. | ||

Some of the 1125Rs have a side stand safety feature. If the side stand is down the bike will shut off when you start to go. My blast had a similar mechanism. The U.S. bikes do not have this feature, but I believe that the UK bikes and some other non-domestic bikes do. It is possible that it is an issue that only affects the bikes with the side stand safety feature. Just my thoughts. Mike (Message edited by kttemplar on July 14, 2008) |
