Ok guys, it's time. I've gotten just over 4800 miles out of the rear tire, and now cords are showing. Pilot Road for the win? Mostly sport touring, spirited riding etc...how will the PR's hold up for me vs the stock Diablo III's? Steve | ||

Steve: If you want the mileage w/o loosing the sport side I would go with the PR 2CT or the Conti Road Attack. Either should get you 2x the Corsa III. I'm running the Conti RA and have ~3k on them with many more miles left. I ran them instead of the PR 2CT since I had a front sitting in the garage. | ||

Sorry, I meant PR 2CT's. Those are what I'm gonna go for... So how important is it to replace front/rear at the same time? Cause it looks like my front Diablo still has plenty of life... Steve | ||

I am thinking of going with the Pirelli Diablo Rosso. Has anyone tried those? I have also heard that when changing the tire to a different tire that both front and rear should be changed to the same brand; is this true? Mike | ||

I love the PR's and the PP's! I have a buddy that rides an FZ-1 he had the wame criteria... Something that would go longer but still allow for some spirited riding. I introduced him to the PR 2CT's and he loves them. Go with Mich, you won't regret it! | ||

+1 on the Rosso. I like 'em a lot. On Corsa III, I get 1100-1500 out of a rear. On Diablo, I get about 2k out of a rear. On Rosso, about 2200 - 2.5k. They are good tires. I ran a set of the new Dunlop Qualifiers on my 1125r as well, and I liked those a lot, too, but they only lasted 1500. | ||

Just ran 3200 miles to homecoming and back on pirelli stradas. showing minor flat spotting in the middle now and probably 1/3rd worn. did the trackday at homecoming expecting to have tire grip issues and was surprised how well they stuck. i can't say that i was one of the slower guys on the track either. i have already put 2 corsa 3's and had cord showing at 2700 both times. running 35 in the rear on the street. further report to follow. tim | ||

1st tire lasted 3525mi.2nd lasted 2750(undone the "noid") 100% full throttle makes a diff. I am satisfied with PC3's. I love the flickabillity(round tread radius). Rode PP 2tc's on xB longlife but hated the tire radius. Different strokes for different folks. Dalton_ look like you found out not to do burnouts with PC3's like I did. Had to take the brake disc off to remove all the excess tire cords. Burnout lasted 60-85 seconds recorded it, not Utube posted yet. I got Beautiful smoke coverage. If see cords I feel more confident than before the burnout, I know I can ride 50mi. or less till tire change. | ||

Actually I rode approximately 75 miles on the tire after I the cords were showing. After I got home I did the burnout and turned the tire into a weed whacker. I also video taped it.(very smokey) | ||

Pity you couldn't put the inch strips from the edge of the tyre you havn't used into the middle,you could double the mileage!   | ||

Any want to take a stab at how many more miles I can get out of a rear Corsa III? New tire has 3/16" of rubber according to my gauge. After 2300miles incl two track days (Barber and Blackhawk) I have 1/8" of rubber left. I had a tech inspector look at it who told me to change it before the next track day as I would "only get half a day on that". I'm thinking I could get another two track days and at least another 1000 miles off it. No?  | ||

Josh I don't think pushing a tires limit is worth it. Maybe on the street (local), but on the track under 50% life that spells D-I-S-A-S-T-E-R. I Will give you a fellow badwebber my nxt DC3 before it would cost a possible wrecked bike, hospital bills, or 6ft under result. You may have a lot of sidewall but most acceleration is done from the center. Just be careful, ridesmart. Change that tire before your nxt trackday. Keep the rubber side down. Boudrx | ||

For extended mileage + enough grip to drag hard parts, Conti Road Attacks are the best I have found. | ||

Ok, Pilot Road 2's it is...put almost a 100 miles on them today. Definitely a more aggressive turn in, and almost hesitates from leaned to vertical, but I'm loving them. | ||

Mine dissapeared quick once i got it low. It seemed to wear better when it was new. Replaced it with another corsa 3. I can't fault them they hold to the road well | ||

I am nearing the end of life on my second rear Corsa. I will have about 2500 miles on it. I love the tire except for the mileage, and the fact that center tread is near impossible to measure before it starts to show signs of lifting off the belts. I have ordered my first ever set of Conti Race Attacks for the street. I hope they stick as well as the Corsas, but will trade off _some_ of that for some mileage. I know that a couple of you have used these tires. How do they stick and handle? Jack | ||

The tires were already swapped in the pix, the question is should I put the old one back on for the street. Here's the same two tires again. They are swapped left/right, so that brand new tire on the left above now has two track days on it and is on the right:  By my simple caliper one track day equals 1000 street miles. And yes it was hot, tiring weekend in Oklahoma.  | ||

I'm sorry but I don't see the point at any time where one should run tires on the track or the street with cords showing. Or just worn out tires either.You run into some unexpected rain and good luck. I get to the wear bars and they're toast. And as far as busting on someone for having chicken strips, that's foolish. I ride on the street, I know my limits and I'm not worried that I have chicken strips. I ride, I have fun, I go home to my family and I don't fool with anyone else's lives. Stretching a little more out your tires isn't worth it. Be accountable and ride safe and smart. | ||

1/8" left measuring all tread, or 2/3 of the original depth is left. On the new tire, two track days took no measureable amount off the center and 1/64" off the sides. Shipping to La might be $25 |
