I had a cluster problem and a new one was installed last week at the dealer. My question is, should the average econ always come up when the key is turned on? My other cluster would have the last setting come up when the key is turned on. I would always have the coolant temp and ambient temp up. Now every key up I have to switch it to that. Also when in warm up it just states COLD and before it always had a number. This may just be the difference between new clusters and the early ones but I don't know.

Chevycummins,

Mine (May '08 build) flashes "Cold" until it warms up to 151 deg. then shows AT and CT. A friend's bike (late '07 build) used to show the temps right at startup, after he got it re-flashed it says "Cold" then goes to AT/CT when warmed up.

My default screen is the AT/CT mode, haven't tried setting it to something else and then shutting it off, then restarting to see what screen is displayed. After I get it back from the dealer for the "recall" and battery drain issue I'll try different settings.

Mine defaults to at/ct until up to operating temp, then goes back to last selected setting.

Thanks for the info guys. It just acts different than my original cluster and I don't want to appear to be difficult, but if its not right I want it corrected. If its normal for the newer cluster than thats fine also. The thing that bugs me is it always defaults to econ when the bike is turned on regardless of where it was when turned off.
