Hey, Royce, no worries. I know you're just kiddin' around.

But maybe you could show up at his door on Halloween. That's fair game, right?! (unless his lights are all off, I guess)

Come dressed as a Ducatista in red (with an oversized head, of course) but insist that you are really a Buell fan, and you'd settle for a trick instead of a treat... such a rare thing these days, and, really, costs nothing.

I heard that Erik might have read this thread and went out and locked the barn doors:

(imagelinked from http://farm1.static.flickr.com/116/362886642_9ae9b 3ea8f.jpg)

Then he contracted out for a new guard dog:

If someone does feel the need to contact him then send a letter or postcard to the factory and state your business or request a meeting time. Or, as noted by others, just come to the factory during the Homecoming or meet up with him at any of the dozens of events he goes to each year and in a friendly way just say howdy and in 15 seconds or less clearly state your issues without demanding his immediate response. Think of the old business school exercise of the elevator game, someone you've been trying to meet just got onto an elevator with you, you have until the person gets off, you can not make the person feel uncomfortable in the confined space of an elevator, now prepare your comments or question within those parameters. Not as simple as it sounds. Happened to me once, and all I could stammer and stutter out was "I like your show", 30 seconds later I had my words prepared - too late.

Gotta run, bye.

I like puppies...just not the big, foaming at the mouth bitting kind!

Oh, and someone at Buell does read some of these threads on BadWeb. I just got a phone call today from tech support and I was told that one of my threads was discussed in their last meeting. Kinda cool, I guess? Don't see a blacked out van parked in front of my house yet!

I have a little story about contacting Erik at home. It was 1995 and I was flying back home when I noticed an article in the mag on the plane bout a guy named Erik Buell in Wisconson that was making some neat bikes. I tore out the page to save the info. One Sunday morning some time later, I called 411 in Milwaukee trying to get his number since I did not know exactly where he lived. I got a male operator who said, " you mean the fellow that builds bikes with harley engines? He lives in *******. Here is his number." Cool, I thought. I called the number and Erik answered the phone. I explained that I had read this article and was interested in a bike. We talked for about 30 minutes about his bikes and future plans for his company. He was very open and sincere. I bought one.

V2win, that is pretty neat! Doing that this day and age would prove difficult and probably frowned upon. But hell, it got another Buell off the showroom floor and another happy Bueller on the streets.

I honestly think if Eric had the time, he would sit down and talk to us all on individual basis. But the fact is, i'm sure he is pressed for time, making that difficult.

Or hell, he might just have the VP do it all and he just might screw off all day, haha!
