Cc, what I'm wondering if post reflash if anyone has disconnected the noid cable or just disabled it and seen if that cough at 4500 rpm is still there.

With the flash and 'noid disabled, I get NO cough, stall, RFA or anything other than normal at 50-54mph, 3rd gear and fast WFO.

After flash my 2000-4000 surging is 90% gone. Gas mileage is in the upper 30's to lower 40's. Great power and no battery issues.

You you kidding me? The flash took me from mid 30s to low 30s! And I'm not racing IL4s! ; )

With the talk of EPA/warranty problems and disconnecting the solenoid why would you not consider just not going WFO at 4500 rpm in third gear if you need to; instead just downshift one and accelerate harder from approximately 5200 rpm anyway you look at it and no stalling issues as my son/partner on his SV 1000 found out watching me rapidly pull away. Remember guys we've got a 10K+ redline. Just my own experience, and it is a rush. Bob

Bob, it's been my experience that this is the rpm range and gear I end up a lot of the time. Even though I know it's there I hit that RFA 2-3 times per week. This can range from being a PITA to down right a MAJOR pucker moment!

I no longer have that issue. Life is so much better now. I can worry about important things (like staying alive) instead of PITA things.

YRMV but it's just my $00.02.

Ccryder, I agree and I ride in that range quite a bit myself but when I do I just accelerate smoothly an am OK. No WFO. On another note: just unhooking the linkage to the 'noid, not unplugging, do you get ANY codes at all and thanks for your fine input here? Bob

someone said earlier "Once you know it's there, it's not to bad".

any time my bike shuts off while i'm telling it to go, thats bad. mine is at the shop right now, cause it went into a crazy run/shutoff/run cycle the other day cutting off n taking about 10 seconds to come back on, with the check engine light on the whole time. felt like i was flipping the cutoff switch on and off

Just unhooking the linkage could still cause the engine light to come on and throw the P---- code. From what I understand, the ECM looks for a change in TPS% once the solenoid has been told to activate and when none is detected it will sometimes generate the P---- code.

+1 Kttemplar, I've had it set (once).
Don't really care, it's just a code, and I don't need to be told it is not functioning : )

The P----- code does nothing to affect the functioning of the bike. all of the ECM functions still operate like they are supposed to. The P---- code is an informational code, from what I understand.
