Really nice contrast in colors Tim. I agree about wanting to see it in the sunlight. That orange really ought bring out the frame and wheels. That's why I put the silver wheels on mine ,to give it a completely different look and they really bring out all the rest of the silver components. A buddy of mine is putting my blue wheels on his yellow XB9S and that bike should really stand out afterward.

Had to make mine look a little more unique.

Also polished the header pipes. No more
purple and blue.

Thurston,

It is the Rim Tape from Tapeworks.com. It was fairly easy to put on as long as you have a front and rear wheel stand. I think it will hold up fine.

JP,

I used the same method to polish that a lot of people have been using with the XB's. Basically the black 3M sandpaper. Start at about a 600 grit then move on up as high as you want. Finish it off with a little metal polish (I like Blue Magic).

The tailgunner guys in daytona this year.. Cool stuff....

On main street I saw one on a sport bike with a under tail exhaust that was pretty slick...

Just a question..is there a way to remove those side scoops?

Visually, they look like an afterthought.

It's really the only thing holding me back from buying one.

I spent an hour at the dealership this Saturday staring at it, and i'm not feeling the same lust i had when i bought my 98 S1W

Going to set up a demo ride soon.
I hope it rides better than it looks.

Yes there is a way to remove the side scoops. Buy a firebolt.

Mikeyp, good to see/ hear from you. Don't sweat the pods, just enjoy the ride and the power. It will do everything you ask it to and then it will follow your thoughts.

Come to BNA and you can abuse mine to your hearts content.

I think those wheels look Really good on the bike,

I hope to get the same results with the wheels off my sons ulysses,

I am hoping the blue wheels look real good on the ulysses, and the ulysses wheels look real good on my bike,

if not I will either powder coat the wheels or buy the star dust silver wheels from Buell,

the only problem is for the cost of new wheels I can get a really nice tire changer which I need along with another Bike lift,

I will not know until I put them on how they will look on the bike, plus I am painting the bike and maybe new wheels on it will help me see what the bike wants for paint.

Keep up the customizing guys, I am hoping to see some really tricked out 1125R's on this thread.

Mikeyp,

The pods aren't much of an issue in real life, out on the road. Waiting on a nice stainless exhaust is a concern (though the quiet is pretty stealthy and cool in it's own right).
