...and wow! Fast, fast and sooo much torque! I was given the opportunity to test ride a slightly used bike at the local HD shop. Now, I've owned an XB9R, a GSX-R750 and an RC51 (current ride) in the past year so I have a good range of bikes for comparison. The 1125R feels as light and maneuverable as the Gixxer, combined with the torque and horsepower (but more so) of the RC. That's a good thing, believe me. The 1125R is amazingly easy to flick through traffic. It pulls away from traffic lights with ease. "Confidence-inspiring" might be an over-worked cliche for sport bikes, but this is an apt description. It was just so easy to tuck it into a corner and smoothly accelerate out. I felt it was a lot easier to maneuver than the XB. Clicking through the gears was also smooth, although I thought the gear-shift was small and tucked in real tight to the bike - I actually missed it with my foot a few times. Practice, practice. As far as its controversial appearance, it looks good in person. The nose looks menacing, like a manta ray's. And if you don't like the looks of the bike, well, just twist the throttle and you won't even care. After I sold my XB, I thought I was through with Buells. Now, along comes li'l ol' 1125R and the lust is back. I do envy you 1125R owners. | ||

Its an awesome motorcycle. I thoroughly enjoy it and have no regrets on the purchase. Your commentary is spot on with my thoughts on the bike, too. | ||

Glad to hear a comparo to the RC51. I figured on the increased flickability, but more power/torque too... nice. | ||

I got to ride one at MBV in the mountains with no supervision(it was smokes). I still have a boner! What a light feeling cannon! I hope to have one by next riding season. |
