I rode for several hours today. (2 tanks of Gas)
At almost every stop light when i put it in neutral the engine died. Was riding around in rush hour traffic and the lights take forever.
I dont normally put it in neutral but my arm was getting tired.
It would die instantly like it was partially in gear and you could hear the slapping of metal. Is this just an adjustment that i can fix or do i need to take it in?
Its really warm here and i dont want to miss out on the riding.
Anyone else have this problem at all?

Slapping of metal?

And you're on here posting about it?

I'd be at the dealer pissing on people's shoes until I had an answer....(Not literally, as I would actually be polite, but persistent, but you get my point)

Definitely should not die in nuetral, I would take it in to the dealer immediately.

But that's just me.

Sounds like the gear dogs are not disengaging entirely, and you hear them hitting as the mainshaft spins from clutch drag.

Bent shift forks would cause that.

Just a stab in the dark with little info.

It only has 400 miles on it. And its not really a slapping of metal sound but more like a loud clicking. The oil checks fine. It never did this before i took it in for a strong fuel smell and asked them to also check to make sure the oil was filled to the correct level. As for how new it is my dealer told me i was the first person in the us to take delivery of one. Since its been freezing here I have not been able to ride much. When shifting to neutral i do a quick throttle blip and it doesn't die. But if i dont do the blip you can hear a strong clicking if i let the clutch half way out. Ill put a few more miles on it and if it doesn't go away ill take it in. I work 12 hours a day 6 days a week so taking to the dealer is not the easiest thing to do. They are never open when im off. Other then that i love this bike. Cant wait to see what the future holds. If they make faster buells in the future ill no doubt add them to my collection.
