I don't know what made me think of it, but I saw an XBRR tail section mounted on a 1125r on a thread a while back. Just for curiosities sake, Would a Uly tail section and seat Mount on an 1125?

Granted it would look silly if it were possible. Add Black and Blue hard bags to that Uly tail and cushy seat and you would have a slick looking, wicked mean sport-tourer.

Like this?

This was an early thought, September I think.
The subframes are radically different, but I never pursued it past that.
Now if I had a Uly around here to take apart...

yeah....Just about...I knew it would look goofy, but Damn thats hidious...lol.

Some matching hard bags and a plate re-locater kit might make it livable if it would bolt on easy.

something to ponder anyways

IMHO, not so hideous. I'm still in favor of the Givi 35 bags vs: the Uly bags but I would like some hard bags. The Uly back rest would go a looong ways to making my SO feel secure.

Now all I need is an 25r to start. It looks like late March B4 taxes will be done :+{.

The frame/tail subframe mount points on the XB vs 1125R are not the same. The Uly tail will not bolt up.

Rusty I have both bikes and can do some measurements between the two bikes when I get a chance, but do not know why you would want to do this?

I have seen a ulysses with the firebolt front end and a lightning rear end, so I think it is possible but do not know why the guy did this because he also changed the suspension and the only thing I think he gained was a larger fuel tank but did look good.

Al at American sport bike told me he turned a ulysses into a race bike, so he might know if it can be done.

I also seen a real cool looking tail piece for the ulysses but then you lose the hard bag option, but looks really cool.

Let me know if you are really thinking of doing this and will do some measurements and see if it can be done.

For some reason this has not shown up on this thread, yet:

I could settle for a 25r or 'Bolt hard bag set up like the Givi V35. I have inquired at Twisted Throttle as to them making a bracket for the 25r and 'Bolt, especially since they use the same tail section.

are talking about Steve's TT. it started out as a TT and he but a firebolt fairing on it, and a uly tail with bags. with red bodywork. he did it as the next generation of his S3T. he had been waiting for them to build a new age sport tourer and it never happened so he built one himself to meet what he wanted.

I want a set of Givi V35 to fit the 1125R.
I wonder which brackets would be the closest fit, with some mods.

(I just want the Givi's to match the ones up front)

Hi No Rice the bike was for sale in New Hampshire and said ulysses so not sure now but do not think it was the same as Steve's.

Two Buells I got chase harper stealth saddlebags and they look real good on the bike but are small, I will be posting pictures if I can next week. Mike

Two Buell I will have to check them out I would like hard bags that did not leak, and would look like they were made for the bike, I have to have looks and function and I am doing good at the looks part but the bags will leak so I have to wrap up what ever I put in these bags.

I can weld real good and need a tig welder and I could fabricate some real nice bags, I am consulting with my son about getting some tools and open up a shop to buy and fix bikes to resell and a nice tig welder I could do allot with and make my own bags to match the bike. Mike

BaggerMike, I've been doing some research on the Givi bags. I like to find a bracket, maybe one that fits a GSXR, R1 or FZ and make it work with some mods.
Should look like this.
I put a deposit down last week, should have my 1125R in a month

Givi

I like the side bags on the R and with my tail bag would look really good.

I took some more pictures today but the camara is old and do not know how the film is in there.

I got to finish the roll and then get them on a cd and then I will post pictures.

Mike,
I never said that. I said MATT at Trojan turned their Ulysses into a race bike. His first Uly led a very interesting life. Started as a regular Uly, got turned into something more like a TT on steroids, then got turned into the bike that they ran in the race series over their in 2006.

The plastics on the tail sections are the same, and the firebolt subframe bolts up to a Uly frame. But the Uly subframe doesn't bolt up to an 1125R frame. There are similarities in the firebolt and 1125R subframes, but lots of differences too.

Al

Al sorry I have a bad memory and with all this info flying around it has my head spinning.

I am trying my hardest to post correctly and with clarity but I have several head injuries so please excuse me for making mistakes.

plus all the other things I am trying to figure out and learn to do.

I do not deny that I make lots of mistakes and do not mind being corrected and I learn from this.

Anyway did you read the post on the wires that come from the ecm to hook up the tach to.

I am working on the bike tomorrow and going to hook it up to the front cylinder wire from the ecm.

I will let you know if it works.

Mike
