Oops - - 1125r, not a new model, don't start that rumor on my account.

SO, you wanna ride one before you buy one?

Your local Buell dealer being stingy and not setting up a bike for demo rides?

Guess what, BMC hears you. Come on, join the party, but be careful, these things are addictive.

Buell Motorcycle Company today announced the 2008 Inside Pass track day schedule, with stops at 10 of the nation’s finest race tracks.

Beginning its second full season, the Inside Pass program starts March 10 at Homestead-Miami Speedway and concludes Nov. 17 at Northern California’s Infineon Raceway, with coast-to-coast stops in between featuring premier facilities such as Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, Road America, Barber Motorsports Park, Virginia International Raceway, and more.

With limited enrollment, catered lunches, and free gifts including a T-shirt and knee pucks for all participants, Inside Pass is the premier track day experience for Buell enthusiasts and owners of all brands of motorcycles. Inside Pass also offers the unique opportunity to test the company’s products in a track environment through the Inside Pass Demo program, including the Lightning XB12Ss, Firebolt XB12R and the all-new 1125R.

Complete 2008 Inside Pass schedule:

March 10: Homestead-Miami Speedway, Homestead, FL
April 22: Barber Motorsports Park, Leeds, AL
May 19: Virginia International Raceway, Alton, VA
June 10: Road America, Elkhart Lake, WI
September 3: Mid-Ohio, Lexington, OH
September 23: Eagles Canyon Raceway, Decatur, TX
October 2: Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Las Vegas, NV
October 12: New Jersey Motorsports Park, Millville, NJ
November 3: Willow Springs International Motorsports Park, Rosamond, CA

$150 last year. Now that you mention it, they never even brought up the price. I just assumed it was $150 again. Wonder how much I just paid? : )

They have sign ups for the demo bikes, but the demo sessions are shorter then the normal sessions (you leave after the session starts, and return before it ends). And at best, you probably would have only been able to do half as many demo sessions as you could do sessions on your own bike.

So if you just want to ride an 1125 on the track, thats easy and you can just drive up. But if you want a "track day" you should bring a bike to ride when you are not doing the demos.

You also need above average gear, for novice you need armored textile or leather, and it has to zip together. So if you don't already have that, you could spend a lot more on gear then on the track day (but then you have the gear).

Do you need the track gear if you're just planning on doing a demo?

Jason what group are you in? I got a spot in intermediate.

I don't think that you can just show up for a demo without paying

Carparts009,
I'm in the beginner group. This will be my second, may be third time at a track. My plans are to get licensed May 10 at Blackhawk and maybe fit in one track day between the June 10 Inside Pass day.

Did everyone else pay $150? The one I went to last Oct. at MSR was only $100. Regardless I'm going to try out a new track and do the one in Decatur ,Tx. in Sept. Has anyone rode at this track before?

Jason,
I'll probably see you at Blackhawk. Me, Bud and possibly a couple more are planning on getting licensed then.

Blazin- I'm pretty sure all Inside Pass Dates are $150

Nice...he's got a big F-ing trailer hahaha...looks like we can't help but run into each other! We should all car pool, even if you're just jumping into my car.

Well, they tech inspect the bikes, not the riders. At least last year at mid ohio. So if you only do the demos, you won't get "inspected", but they will see you lined up and gridded to start, so I am sure if you lined up in tennis shoes and jeans one of the instructors would flag you.

Don't know how they could tell if your top was internally zipped to your bottom though, unless you made a point to show them.

If they want me to have them zip together though, I'm not interested in trying to fool anyone. And they *could* check easily if they feel the need.

Is vanson sponsoring it again this year? Last year they had gear you could borrow. That was a really sweet deal.

I just signed up for the 10/12 event at NJ Motorsports Park. I can't wait to try one of their 1125r's on the track!

Anyone know why they need the VINs?

I guess the VIN is to confirm you're an owner and not just someone trying to sneak in. As I understand it, they hold spaces for we owners and don't 'release' them until the last minute. As a Buell owner we get slightly preferential treatment for "Our" track day.

Now, if I could just get them yo answer the damn phone so I can sign up for a couple of dates...

Man, I hope that track gets completed. Hopefully they'd refund us if it doesn't...
