Has anyone else experienced a problem with your engine stalling when approaching a stop? My Buell is at the Dealer right now waiting for the Factory Techs to figure out the problem There are more bikes having the same problem according to the Factory people. Mine didn't start doing this till after I had put over 800 miles on it. Any suggestions ?

Yes a few of us have experienced stalls myself included. I found if I Just keep the rpms's above 3200 in second and above 2500 in first and it doesn't stall. Slower than that rpm wise start slipping the clutch as the engine is lugging.

I stalled a few times but I believe it may have to do with me not being used to revving higher than the XB. I'm no longer afraid of giving it some gas and have not stalled since....

Spectrum,

My problem begins at the point of slowing down and the bike is using engine braking. I can feel the motor beginning to stall and if I pull in the clutch without blipping the throttle it will die. This should not be happening at anytime during off throttle period! Thanks for your feed back.
When I hear from the Factor on this problem I will pass it on to the rest of the 1125R owners.

sounds to me like the idle is just set too low....start with the basics

I noticed on a showroom bike today (<50 miles) that if I pull in the clutch coming to a stop sign, and do my usual "don't stall the carbureted bike" throttle blip real quick, it would stall. It seemed the blip was what did it; if I pulled the clutch and just let it idle, it was fine. Thumb the starter, fired right up. Gonna have the techs take a look at it to be safe, but it could very well be a case of a new, tight bike.

Once the bike was fully warmed up (ambient was under 40 degrees, coolant temps reading under 150 when it was acting up) it ran like a top. A very FAST top ;) I forgot just how good these bikes are - this was my first chance on one since the preproduction bikes at Pocono. Even keeping the revs down I could hustle it through some back roads quite nicely. Now if I could just get my S2 to handle that well....

I think it is an issue that will go away as the engine loosens up. It happened 3-4 times before the odo hit 300, MAYBE once since and I have about 650 on the bike now. I consider it a non issue at this point.

Mine does it more often when the C.T. is 170 deg or less and when I fill up on crap gas. Some days it does it 8 to 10 times and other days it won`t do it even once.

Dre, how's your oil level?
I'm only at 300 miles, but I have not had a stall since I removed the extra quart and a half in my engine...

*however it could just be a coincidence, I am in no way trying to say that the stalls are directly related to oil levels.. just a thought.

I will find out soon. I hit 650 miles today and have to do the oil change. Could be related, could be coincidence.

Hmmm. My stalling problems stopped about the same time I took out the extra oil too. May}be not coincidence....
