Anyone know if Drummer will be making an exhaust for the 1125R?

The word from some techs...absent engine/FI mods, an aftermarket muffler will simply add noise...

I wonder if PC is going to make a unit for this bike?

I think it's safe to say the full gamut of accessories and performance parts will be available.

I just think it's ugly, the big hydroform look, ugh, looks like something from Honda.

I'm sure Kevin will have one and it will perform and sound great. If you don't like the way the stocker looks, there might be better options though. Personally, I like the looks of the factory effort anyway. I was very happy with his work on my Ulyssys so if I get one of these, it will have a Drummer when he gets around to offering it. Funny, I always changed my Japan bike exhaust out for aftermarket, but my V-Rod and Buell have modified stockers on both. If somebody made an under-seat design that is similar to MV Agusta or 1098 looks, out of carbon-fiber I might be tempted though. Of course performance couldn't be sacrificed for any exhaust.

I'll leave the stock pipe on if it doesn't weigh 25lbs...

19.5 pounds is the weight of muffler only (excluding the pipes), right?

I look forward to what D&D comes up with, both in weight reduction and sound.

I rode a Ducati 1100S Multistrada recently. The beautiful dual underseat exhaust gave no hint that the bike was a V twin. In fact with earplugs, I could hear the mechanical sounds of the engine, but I could not hear the exhaust at all.

To me, part of the fun of riding a V2 is the sound.

D&D cans have a reputation for being loud on I-4 sportbikes.

yep, muffler only, no pipes. I was surprised my self. He said he wanted to go full stainless steel. There will be a big weight savings alone. Will post dyno chatrs when i get them. Two mor weeks till completion (est.).

Zcat, why would you put an underseat exhaust on a Buell?

I have to say, having just seen the cutaway at the IMS...it ain't "just a muffler". There's more plumbing in there than a half bath I just put in, LOL. Very impressive work, the amount of detail in there speaks to how much attention was paid to that particular piece.

+1 what Ratbuell said. And it really is just right in sound and db.

Gsc, just because I like the look, but I don't like it enough if it pulls the performance down. I really kind of like the stock pipe's look, but thats just me and I'm sure a significant weight drop can be achieved losing the stocker, but again, at what cost to performance? Stock pipe didn't sound bad either.

I'm used to hearing the exhaust, not the mechanicals.
That's one of the few things I don't like about the 1125R.
I WILL give up a little performance to get there.

I kind like the looks of the stocker tho.

It looks like a set of bagpipes, or a digestive system, not sure which.

Yeah, I'd really like something more attractive like my Michron for my 12R or a belly pan to cover that ugly stock thing up. The welds look like they were made by an 8 year old with a $100 Home Depot MIG welder set up. If I had my TIG set up, I'd pull the exhaust, grind the welds and TIG them all to make the thing look better.

I think the stocker completes the lower edge of the bike's silhouette. Without it there'd be rough edges and holes. The muffler gives a sense of shape to the bottom of the bike, and a solid line between the wheels.

+1 what Ratbuell said.

Also I'm sure with Buell's everything serves more than one function design philosophy. The muffler probably serves some under carraige air dynamics purpose as well.

And hopefully the aftermarket ones will also maintain these lines and fitment.

I do plan on making a belly pan or chin spoiler for the bike when i get it back. Already have something rough mocked up, just need to wait to get the bike back to see if it will work with different exhaust.
