Al Lighton writes: "I've got bar risers on the cad system right now. They'll be a little while yet, I only get to work them in the evening, but I'm making good progress. And my 1125R top triple tree cam in and got dropped off at the shop yesterday to get the exact dimensions captured."

Al, I know this is premature, but do you know about how much up & back the 1125 fairing will allow you to relocate the bars? Thanks.

No, I don't. It's tough to capture those measurements in 3d space without a full cad model of the front end, and I sure as heck don't have that. I'm being fairly conservative on the first design, 1.5" back, 1" up nominally, same as the firebolt Heli's because that riding position is very nice. 1" up and 1.5" back doesn't sound like much, but ergonomically, it's a HUGE difference. But I'm deigning adjustability into the bars that the firebolt Heli's don't have.

Hey Al-

While you're at it, is there or can/will there be a front fender with a longer tail?
I'd buy one in a heartbeat.
Already tired of wiping mud splash of the inside of the screen.

Al, thanks for the info. I concur with what you're saying. I had 1" lower risers on my FZ-1 and have 1" higher riser blocks on my naked SV1000. Just that one inch put the bars right where I wanted them on each bike.

Keep us apprised of your progress.

Come on Al, you've had days to work on this, what is the hold up! Put me down for one when you get some built.

Hi Al,

I was looking on your website for the "Firebolt Heli's" you describe, but didn't see them.

Sounds like something I would be interested in. How can I find them?

TIA

Timbo

We just got our first CF tail section back. Beautiful part, my tool guy really outdid himself this time. The seat cowl will be done as well, but not like the stock one. I'm going to make it attach without being on a passenger seat, and make it a little taller, so that one can put a few more things in the tail.

I've confirmed fit on the Dark Horse Moto Mirror Block off plates. Of course, now that the mirrors are also the turn signals, using these requires a bit more thinking even if you put CRG bar ends on.

I've finished the first pass at the bar riser triple tree. It's at the machine shop getting quoted now. I fear it may be a bit pricey, but I like the design overall, and I can't see pulling many of the features out to make it less expensive. I still need to build the prototype and test it, so don't be bugging me for a set just yet.

Wow,
I've never been overly fond of the stuff but the 1125 looks like it was born to wear it. That is just beautiful.

I think you've just made a carbon fiber believer out of me.

Edit: Now you just need to make some cosmetic pod carbon fiber over lays that will fit right over the plastic scoops : )

The airbox cover is the same as the XB's, so the 9006 cover that's been on the web site for a while is the one in the pictures above. $359.95 here: http://www.americansportbike.com/shoponline/ccp0-p rodshow/9006.html

The tail isn't up on the web site yet, will be soon. The one in the pics is the first article. I haven't priced it yet. I need to get the tail cowl produced to market it right.

The pods will happen soon. There are some interesting challenges to do it right.

Mike, I like the corbin seat a lot for the street. I think I'd put the stock one on for the track. It's easier to hang off with the stock one, but the Corbin is WAY more comfortable in a lot of ways for normal street riding and especially if going any distance.

Al

Thanks Al, I think it looks better than the Buells touring seat and hopefully afford it by April when I will be going on long rides, the stock seat is really comfortable so I should be able to ride for days with the corbin seat. Mike

Pricey at $349..They were less expensive for a while but then Corbin jacked up the prices. Sales really fell off since.

But I still like them, a lot.
