ok bob, what I did was hard to figure out, I wanted it behind the tach but would not fit, I got the garmin zumo 550 with xm radio, weather, and trafic, which works real good, so I mounted the optional antenna needed to get xm radio and weather and traffic in the front nose right under the windshield, I had bought a motorcross brace for the zumo at aerostich.com, the one that goes for 180.00, it came with several mounting options, but is made to bolt to a half inch crossbar, there is a company that makes tank bags with mounts for the zumo and other acc's, but what I did is go to the home depot, and found a thredded rod that went thrue the steering stem, then I bolted one of the pieces to it, then used spacers to mount the rest of the parts above the nut which I supper glued so no one can get it apart, the whole unit is lockable, and I used some rubber washers with steel ones, and bolted it all together from the bottum of the forks, I used a rubber gas line to cover the rod so it will not move, this is the only place that I could find it can be mounted to, besides the tankbag which you can get at rka-luggage.com and they are nice but like 300.00, I think my way is better, the zumo is excellant and I can see it easy, and has lots of features, it was made for motorcyclest by motorcyclest, it has a speedometer, a gas gauge, compass, elevation, time and distance, you can program it, and will tell you when you need gas and direct you to the nearest gas staiton, also has all kinds of trip info that you can download it to google earth, and it will show you the way you took, got a mp3 player, audio book player, and have a savers card that you can save money when you travel, and have an off road topo map, that I bought for off road riding but could not find anyone to ride off road with, and if the bike fell on me and I was hurt I be stuck at the weight of the ulysses on me so I gave the ulysses to my son to ride, it also has blue tooth, I will try to post pictures of the bike soon, I am broke and need money so I got some parts to sell and need to take pictures of them to get them on ebay, so check out the websites, aerostich does not show the mount that I have for the zumo, but it is mounted real good and locks, it is a little hard for me to put the key in the ignition so hope that helps you picture how it is mounted right in the middle of the bars and up like two inches. With my Zumo 550 I've found that my Uly is always less than 1 mph difference in steady state compared to the GPS. Maybe it's a Buell thing?

Thanks Mike

I have a Garmin Vista C with a mount on my CityX crossbar.
Bought the Vista for backpacking (I have 2 Scouts in the house)
Vista is too dang hard to see while riding. Plus my vision requires glasses to read but not for driving...kinda sucks

I will have to wait until I have my 1125 to see how to mount a Zumo...pricey little devils aren't they!

Thats really great to hear, Im glad its right on. I was worried they would end up 10% optimistic like about any other IL4 I have ever ridden.

Also, on a dyno chart in another thread, it showed the bike really revs to 10500rpm. Again, unlike the exaggerated tachs on IL4s. I think there was an R6 a year or two ago that was high by 2000rpm?

This bike makes no excuses, I LOVE IT!!

you can find the 550 zumo around 700 if you look real good I got mine when they first came out a gamin outlet store brand new, one day it was telling me to go a different way and just as I was exiting the hyway I seen a huge back up and it guided me around it, I love gps you can go exploring and when you get lost or bored you just hit home and your on your way. I wouldn't mind the display being closer, just have easier access to the buttons.

Is this happening to anyone: I can be in stop and go traffic or just riding a twisty back rode and look down a see a big ''0'' in the digital speedo area. This has been intermittenly happening, but becoming way more frequent the hotter the days become. So, I dropped it off for 5 days at local HD with them to not being able to duplicate the issue (doesn't that always happen).

So, they did the reflash (Dec. build #741) while it was there and cleared some -too much air codes- do to a intake and gas collar mod. (since then reversed back normal), and told me that it should be workin just fine. So that Sat. took it out on a ride and 30 minutes into it I saw the big '0' turned around parked it til' this monday back to HD, and told them that if they can't duplicate the issue to call by today. They called, went over rode for 30 mins. (upper 80's Louisiana day) was able to make it happen, turned back to HD. They rode and saw the issue (Hallelujah!!!). Why is the bike doin this?? Has this happen to anyone??
