Ok, thanks Dent. I will give it a rest now. So, back on topic.

Enjoy.

(Off topic, my bad)

hey, I live in Colorado and had this 2004 Busa for 17,000 miles. Four times also did 165, and she was all in. I think it's the altitude.

Now I have a 2008 look forward to seeing a few more mph.

If you look at my stable I purposely diversify them to try and cover as much ground as possible in the endless possible combinations.

Seems to me if you were going to diversify you would have gone the 1125r route, rather than buying a 2nd Busa.

"big dorks wearing floppy gear"

On the street, that would be me. I often wear textile gear with armor inserts. It is extremely poor for aerodynamics, but on the street I rarely exceed speeds that matter aerodynamically. It gets to be a real problem though at 75 mph running into a 10+ mph headwind.

"Around here one could get the impression that big dorks wearing floppy gear are pre-installed on most R1s when they leave the dealership. "

I suppose that one could horribly misread that to refer to BadWeB, if one's skill in reading comprehension is sorely lacking. : ]

Sorry about that Spike.

Huh?

How much reading comprehension is required to observe local sportbike riders plodding around wearing super baggy jeans and XXXL Ecko sweatshirts?

Sincerely sorry Spike; forgot who you were there for a minute and took your post as a poke at BadWeB (around here).

My "here" and your "here" were not the same "here" also not "there", but somewhere else. : D

Well, Rocket, old buddy… you have failed me. I was hoping that through your efforts Santa, by the time he made it out to this little spec on the globe, would still have a bag full of 1125R's.

But, alas…all I got in my stocking was one small package (two capsules, only) of Horny Goat Weed.

Don’t get me wrong – I’m thankful for that. But I was really hopin’ for the 1125R.

Oh, well… There's always next year. Thanks anyway for trying.

Sorry Captain, I was busy wind tunnel testing the latest 1125S.

Should be ready for you mid July. Or maybe September. Oh, make that November. Ok, Christmas week, unless you're in the UK. In which case it will be March. March 2009 that is.

Damn, Sean!

Two things came to mind immediately:

First, the attention to detail is obvious.

Second, who can answer all my questions?

I would love to hear something from the architect who designed her. Talk about different in every way! Evidently the "mariner's eye" is no longer capable of assessing a vessel's sea-keeping qualities. No longer are functional lines pleasing to the eye as in traditional designs. I sure would like to know why.

What must it be like leaving the dock at the helm of something like that? Maybe I should have spent my career fishing for money rather than chasing challenges?

Thanks for the link. Have you got a pic of the one you occasionally fish on? Same guy, I assume?

Notice how much draught she has? It keeps the catch alive in water tanks all the way to the quayside. Apparently that particular design is noted for being very seaworthy. Besides the pic's there is a section on Rob's website that describes a little of the build and who designed it.
