Motorcycle Consumer News has an interesting article on service costs of a sportbike.

They set tire life (4000 miles sport tires, 8000 miles sport-touring), brake pad and chain/sprocket life (16,000miles), and called shops to get T&M cost on service intervals of 600, 4000, 7500-8000, 11-12,000, and 15-16,000.

I haven't made it through the whole article yet to note all the caveats, (one big one- they went with dealer recommendations instead of factory spec, doubling the oilchanges the Ducatis got and adding a valve inspection for some of the UJMs) but the final numbers are interesting, puttin the 1Liter bikes at : Honda $4095, Duc $5557, Yami $4042, Suzuk $3924, Kawi $3932.

Anyone have guesses on T&M for the 1125R for those intervals for comparison? We can use the same #s for the tires, but need brake pad and time to replace. We'd assume no belt replace ;)
