Nope, because all the refinements have already finished intensive testing. So this one is ready to go.

I wonder where the first one is going? How cool would it be to get the first ever production 1125r.

It won't be me. I checked with my dealer (of course, I spent most of the time educating her on what has been going on with the pre-production, media & Buell production delay) & she looked up the status of my order/bike--looks like mine is still at the initial "ordered" status.

I guess there are several intermediate statuses until the ultimate "shipped" status.

This is awesome.

"Looks like my 1125R arrives on 16 Nov. To bad I am in Iraq and will not be able to ride it for a couple of months."

In return for your serving our great nation, I would be willing to take delivery of your 1125 for you. Heck, Ill even break it in for ya @ no charge.(i know...NOT funny)

Stay safe, soldier.

BTW, all three that my dealer has ordered are spoken for already. I think this bodes well for Buell. The question might not be how many people will buy the 1125r, but how many 1125r's can Buell produce?

Will there be any added cost for the refinements?

Don't even tell me Buell is holding the line on the price too????

Im sincerely happy for the lot of you that have / can afford a place in line for one of these divine machines. I am stoked for all of you and hopeful that this will be the bike that entices the cycle world to experience the joy that we [as Buellers] derive from riding these beasts.
Although I want an 1125 as well, I am MORE than satisfied (more like elated) to have a Buell product in my garage, no matter how outdated it may be.

BUELL FTMFW!

Yep, DucX1, soon you'll be able to hear them snarling by while you are shimming those desmo heads in the garage or fitting new sets of cam belts! To each his own; I'd rather ride and smile than wrench and pontificate!

The discarded belts can be used as hula hoops by the Elves.

Congratulations from Southern Cali. My '06 Uly is starting to look lonely without a brother in the garage.

Yeah,we dom't have a piston vise so we'er going to try and cut a ring in a plate of aluminum and set the piston skirt into it and gently apply clamps. then CNC cut a land around the domes to match the flat top portion so i can obtain a proper "squish band"

My hat is off to all the Elves. Having gone through many start-of-production's on everything from aerospace through appliance and automotive, it is NEVER easy.

Go for it. You'll need picts to prove ;+}

Spidy: That link was awesome!

I wonder who will get that bike?

I tell you, some of those pics of Mr. Buell talking...he looks strikingly like Robert DeNiro...

"Well that is number 1 so I am guessing it is getting tucked away in a corner somewhere..."

glad to hear that the production has begun, great news for all Buellers!

Does Mr. Buell get an IRS 1099 for the number 1 bike?

#1 is not in Erik's office.

And . . no 1099 is necessary. A good deal of the bikes Erik has tucked away (including the one I nearly bought off him in June 1990) he bought and paid for . . yep, at retail.

There is one exception and somehow, knowing the person who handles his paperwork, I'm betting everything is in perfect order.

The accounting doctrine of "marked to market" does not apply to special interest motorcycles but it's an very fetching idea. . .

: )

According to this press release serial #1 is going to the Harley museum.

Nov 01, 2007

From a press release issued by Buell Motorcycle Company:

PRODUCTION OF 1125R LAUNCHES NEW ERA OF BUELL SPORTBIKES

First Liquid-Cooled V-Twin Buell Rolls off the Assembly Line in East Troy, Wisconsin

EAST TROY, Wis. (November 1, 2007) – The Buell Motorcycle Company celebrated a major milestone this week as it started up a new age of sportbikes with the production of the first Buell 1125R motorcycle at its factory in East Troy, Wis.

Turning a new corner into the superbike category, the all-new Buell 1125R delivers a true balance of street and track performance. Designed with a passion for the elements that have defined Buell motorcycles for 25 years, the 1125R offers power, handling and agility that will take riders to a new level of sportbike riding. The 1125R joins the XB and Blast as a third Buell motorcycle platform. The first 1125R motorcycles are expected to arrive at U.S. Buell dealers in November. The serial number one Buell 1125R will become part of Buell’s history, saved for the Harley-Davidson Museum, which opens in 2008.

“Seeing the first 1125R come off the line marks the start of a significant new era for everyone at Buell,” said Erik Buell, chairman and chief technical officer at Buell Motorcycle Company. “The 1125R is designed and built from the rider down to take Buell to a new performance level. As we look forward, we will continue to embrace and enhance our fundamental vision of motorcycle design that offers the ultimate riding experience.”

The Buell 1125R experience begins with power, and adds an artful combination of engine performance, precise-and-agile handling, advanced aerodynamics, and superior rider environment and control. Packaged with distinctive styling that leaves many mechanical components exposed, the 1125R leads with an all-new front fairing and radiator cowling which provides superior aerodynamics, rider comfort and efficient air flow. The 1125R delivers race-inspired agility and handling, while holding to the three principles of the Buell Trilogy of Technology – chassis rigidity, low unsprung weight and mass centralization.

The Buell 1125R Helicon engine is a new 1125cc DOHC V-Twin, the first liquid-cooled engine to power a street-legal Buell motorcycle. The Helicon engine is rated at 146 crankshaft horsepower, and is designed to deliver optimized usable power. Its V-Twin design retains the styling and character that has always defined the Buell riding experience.

Buell will celebrate its 25th Anniversary in 2008 with special motorcycle badging, as well as a variety of events July 2-6, 2008 in Wisconsin. (see www.buell.com for more details)
