I got my November issue of Sport Rider today, and I was pleasantly surprised when I opened it to find a big spread on the 1125R. Each of the major motorcycle publications has done a write up on it so far, but only Sport Rider gave it the spread it deserves. When Suzuki REVISES the GSX-R 1000 it gets a huge spread in Cycle World. But Buell introduces the most significant motorcycle in it's 25 year history and it gets a couple pages!! I have always liked Sport Rider, and this just confirms my subscription renewal!

My buddy gets like 4-5 bike mags. CW, Motorcyclist, RRX, Sport Rider--I think his daughter was selling subscriptions for school. Anyway, Sport Rider is my fav as well. The Buell spread confirms it. I will get the second hand SR a few days after he gets it. Seems to work.

Corny as it sounds, I hope to get a scrap book with as many "comprehensive" articles as I can find. So far I have the CW and RR World--that's all I can think of off the top of my head.

I haven't seen the Sport Rider coverage - but Motor Cyclist did a good spread. The article was in general favorable but the author did ding for for some of the preproduction issues.

Funny - I rode the 1125R at Miller Motorsports. I had 3 sessions - 3 different bikes. I did NOT notice ANY of the things people have mentioned (vibration above 7K rpm, right foot hot, etc). Each bike was butter smooth and faster than my skills allow.

I can't wait for mine.....

Sport Rider's been pretty bad about trashing Buell in previous reviews, stating obviously dumb things like an XB12R has to be continuously banged off the rev limiter to get decent performance out of it in the twisties. I think they missed the point.

Hopefully they'll give the 1125R a better review.

In Cycle World's defense, the 1125R issue obviously was written before the Laguna Seca test rides had happened. I imagine they will have a thorough review about next month or so.

I spoke to Aaron Frank, who wrote the Motorcyclist article, at the Inside Pass day at RA. He said the bike was like night and day compared to the one he rode at Laguna! The right foot heat, and most of the vibrations were gone, and the bike had a fork that actually moved. He was pretty pleased with the bike that day!!

Yeah, most of the mags wrote a few pages after riding a disappointing pre-pro or not riding at all. When they get the real bike there should be better and longer reviews.

I'm just glad they're not completely trashing it based on issues that were resolved 10 years ago. It seems like they're starting to understand.

I read the Motorcycle Consumer News story last night and I've seen a few "hope they do this or that on the production bikes" but for the most part all the reviews are pretty much in the "watch out world, Erik's finally got his motor" category.

It's a really well developed bike. . . . hell, it should be . .. he's had 19 years to work on it!

: )
