Any thoughts to add ram air to the XB12R for the near future (very near I hope) ???

Since freeing the intake of the XB, gives more power, why not adding direct ram air to help the engine breathe better??

Since it has been done for the 1125R, it should be possible for the XB as well.

The factory decided to further evolve the XB12R by adding :

A. new oil-pump design (great thing)
B. Extra 300 rpm (also great thing)

The XB12R could use some extra Hp with the use of ram-air, since it could be considered an alternative sportbike to the IL4s 600cc class.

Another thought :

Why not introducing a XB12RR with

1. Ram air (improvement)
2. ZTL2 (improvement)
3. Possibly 1125R's 47mm front (improvement??)
4. Possibly 1125R's swingarm (improvement??)

This bike could be targeted in the market, against the middle class bikes like Duc 749,Triumph 675, Jap IL4 600.

it has been done in the XBRR format, so parts should be available already, or fab your own

Tune it. You don't want to be running lean at the top of the rev range.

You wouldn't be able to use the 1125 swingarm though unless you found someplace else to put the oil.

Other than that... Not a bad idea.
