I rode in the novice group and normally ride my xb12ss. One thing I noticed is that I was still shifting at 6K. Its amazing how we bitch not enough rpms but then when given to us we don't use it. I felt like I didn't really need to use it anyways, since there was shitloads of power available everywhere. However, in the straights I used as much as I could.

-- brakes were awesome
-- tires were awesome
-- ergos were awesome (almost a sport touring position)

I prolly got up to 140 with ease, uh mean its so easy with the cockpit design.

Also, the slipper clutch is a huge improvment. The first time I used it I was like "WTF". I have never used a slipper clutch before so I was a bit confused at first but then started to use it to my advantage. No need to match the rpms when downshifting.

As far as the handling goes, its a Buell so its in the genes.

The exhaust sound is kinda quiet and similar to the XB models. It idles around 1400 rpm I think. It just doesn't have the sportser thump, thump sound anymore.

I can tell you're younger than I am. : )

I couldn't do an 800 mile day on an 1125r. I can on my Uly.

However, after riding one around a track, I can see why bikes have Ergos like that. It was significantly easier to hang off the 1125r than it was the Uly (I had never hung off anything before yesterday.) It is also a lot more confidence inspiring riding position when they bike is leaned way over.

BTW, I looked at your profile and noticed your job title. Cool. : )

Keith, Nice to finally meet you and your dad in person along with all the other Bad Webers that showed up. I'll post our group photo as soon as I can.

The 1125R was a blast and was happy the engine turned out to be such a power plant that I hoped it would be. Handled great like the rest of the XB's

BTW Keith I think I know what happened with your close encounter in T7, PTT was looking for someone that was a bit slow for the Advanced group and was putting others at risk. Hope your Inside Pass track day was good one. I'll PM you later, don't want to hi-jack the thread.

Had a Blast. Actually, a Helicon good time!

I rode the 1125R at VIR today and was very very impressed with the two that I rode (the piss out of). Only thing holding me back on this bike was the street tires.

My impressions:
1. Lots of linear power all over the rpm range but really comes on around 7-8K.
2. powerslides off the corners real nice and predictable because there's no "hit" when it comes onto the power band (because the power is so linear)
3. The bike sounds way cool, but it's still fairly quiet.
4. The bike looks way better in person than in the pictures.
5. Very smooth shifting transmission (YEA!)
6. Rock solid handling and easy to ride fast.
7. The front brake - OMG

Very impressed with the frt. brake over the ZTL1.
8. Very nice with the rider quite zone - perfect aerodynamics.

Looks like MY wish list has been answered; Thanks to everyone at Buell for a great day and a great bike!

I LOVED the 1125. It felt stronger than my RC-51, handled like my Buell AND had better brakes than my M-2 which I thought was almost impossible. For me, it would be a superior track bike compared to my RC and there was no question it would be a far superior street machine.

The dealers were at VIR the day after the consumer's track day. I was flagging Turn 7 and especially enjoyed watching the control riders on their two hot lap sessions (one in the morning and one in the afternoon).

Tripp Nobles was smoking fast on his approach to that turn and according to my sources, he was running in the 1:30's on the North course. He was riding bike 29, one of the same ones we were riding the day before.

Uh...what was that someone said about the "street tires holding them up"? They sure weren't holding Tripp up. He would have the bike moving both ends back and forth under braking and then just turn it in and ZOOOOOOM!!!

It was fun to watch!

I wonder if this is any coincedence?:
