Will there be a version developed which has enough room in the back for a set of saddlebags AND a passenger? Something reminiscent of the S2 or S3? I don't need hard bags, just enough room to hang my soft bags AND carry a passenger. Something I cannot do with my XB. | ||

I love the 1125R, and I want one badly, but that motor would be OH so sweet in a Ulysses.  Move over Multistrada, GS, Tiger, and V-Strom....146hp Ulysses coming through! LOL! | ||

I'll pretend to be an anony here: We do not talk about future products. Now back to being Mikef5000: I hope they make a sport-touring version! Give me easily removable hard bags, comfortable riding position for driver and passenger, a high output alternator for lights and heated stuff), and maybe a rear rack for a tent or cooler, and I'll be ready to go! | ||

"We do not talk about future products." So what is the purpose of this question and "answer" thread? I've ridden my S2's from coast to coast, I've even ridden my S1W across country once, (won't do it again!) My XB while a great bike in itself, is not a highway bike, and certainly cannot carry myself,a passenger, and our baggage across the country. The ULY is not an option for me, I don't need a dirt bike, and personally, I think it's a FUGLY motorcyle. (before you start hammering on me, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and I'm a TUBER kind of guy) Anyway, the 1125R does intrigue me, I am certainly interested. but would it be worth the money for the better handling if I can't make it do what my S2 does? (again, before anyone starts to hammer on me, I'm not looking to trade in, I'm looking to add yet another Buell to my collection, but I still want it to do the things I need to stay happy with it). So, are there actually going to be answers from the factory regarding all these questions? Or is this just a way for us to post our "wish list"? | ||

The purpose of the question and answer thread is to answer questions about the existing 1125R product. That's how the thread is titled. Lots of answers on questions on the 1125R are being posted. You suggest that since we won't post an answer to your question about future product, we should go away? That seems unfair to those who are posting legitimate questioons about the 1125R and thiose who are responding in kind, doesn't it? | ||

1125R question: What is the perceived/felt seat height comparison between a 2000 M2 and the 2008 1125R? Not dimensions, but rather "feel", how tall does it feel. For example, an S1, even though it may have a higher seat height (standover height), an S1 feels lower than a wide seat M2 due to the narrow S1 seat. A 1995 S2 feels lower than a 2000 M2. A 2007 feels like a 7' tall step ladder. If I like the S2, and I like the 2000 M2 well enough, and if I don't even feel comfortable taking a Uly for a test ride (for a street bike), how will I feel about the perceived height of the 1125R? 10,000 words for a 2 second question, but hey, what can I say, at least it's not about a future product. ;) | ||

I was even willing to DIY the sport touring bike. But alas, they decided to NOT have the subframe mounts match those of the other XB bikes. That would seem like a design "no brainer". But then again, I didn't stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night  BTW....I REALLY wanted this to be my next bike. Even more so than I wanted the S1W in 1998. But at least I had the S3T option!! | ||

I've got two kids in college and two car loans to pay off. By the time I've got some extra money (two years from now) to buy a new bike I'm sure there will be something I can load up and drive 1,000 miles to see ma and pa. I've got time to wait and a Blast to ride until then. | ||

The 9sx makes a remarkably able sport tourer with soft luggage (Buell or aftermarket) for a single rider. The TT would probably be even better. The only thing I loose is a fairing, and every faired bike I have ridden only moved the air blast from places where it did not bother me to places where it *did* bother me. I am happier with no fairing and much better riding gear. I don't know why the 1125R would not be as good or better. | ||

I sat on the 1125R at the Launch party in Monterey this past weekend. I have a XB9R and a BMW R1100S. I use the BMW for touring. My impression is that the ergos of the 1125 is closer to the R1100S than the XB9R. So much so in fact that I believe I can sell the R1100S and do reasonable sport touring on the 1125R. No two up though, that would not work and I don't travel that way on my BMW either. The seat to foot peg relationship is more relaxed on the 1125. The seat to bars seems just slightly more relaxed than the 9R. And oh yes. Buell, thanks for the launch party at Carbones! I had a great time and it was just really so nice to see all the excitement from owners and Buell employees alike! FWIW Asbjorn | ||

I have to tell Asbjorn's secret: He's a hard-core dude. Rode 6 hours just for a free dinner among fellow Buellers. Couldn't even stay the next day for the racing! Where else you gonna find somebody like that??? | ||

It would be nice to see a hard bag equipped model with a little higher handlebar position, set up for commuter riding, cross country trips. I was glad to see Buell using the Pirelli Diablo Corsa tires on this model. I have been running the Pirelli Diablo line on my X1W every since I had a lay down with my oEM Dunlops. It would really be nice to see this bike help bring Buell into the limelight. How fast is this thing in the 1/4 mi? How about a smaller falt tracker styled bike with a bit smaller Rotax in it? I bet it would give the KTM a run for the money. | ||

To go to the original question:- I fabricated my own pannier bars for my XB12R and could have made a wrack as well (but didn't) and did some comfortable touring on it with plenty of kit in my bags. If the back end is basically the same whats the prob'? .....Fulgur. | ||

Errr, not in detail. I found this one of it with about half of what I have had on it in total on another trip. I can get some more detail pix if you like once I rebuild the engine and get the bike back together. .....Fulgur.  | ||

Bart- I agree on the Tuber ergos. My old worn out and abused knees can't take much riding when bent (the 35" inseam makes many bikes too short). I really like my old S3 and would love to have a modern Buell motor in it but the down draft intake kind of nixes that. I can't wait to sit on the 1125r and see how the knees will do. Since I have another touring bike I'm ready to replace the S3 with a fun bike. | ||

"Sport TOURING abilities" IMHO all sportbikes have touring abilities. ever see or read the story about the guy that rode his R1 around the world? Yes, I put 3 times the miles on my S3 than my S1. And my Uly is soo comfy. I think the title of the tread should be, "Can we get a good set of hard bags for the 1125R? Chad, A Rotax Uly OMG! that would be Too Cool! Just think a 146hp dirt bike!  | ||

I think the rotaxy version shouldn't be like the Uly. Keep this one on pavement only, and make it LOWER!
