Is there any possibility of a race only version for those of us who only plan on riding it on the track?

Ducati has a version of their 900 SS that is only for the track, and saves the purchaser $$ as they don't have to pay for all the stuff that's got to be taken off. Then again, e-baying brand new 1125R parts might actually make a guy a few bucks.

Count me in! I'd rather buy one with chain drive (for gearing adjustments), adjustable swingarm, steering damper, safety wire ready fasteners (I kill many a bit), no lights (XBRR) upper may work?, and fiberglass bodywork (is this plastic again?). Oh yeah, and a factory race kit similar to XB.

The other mods we can do ourselves, but this would be a great start for privateers.

Bunch of us have been hoping for this but nothing yet. There is NO Factory parts/bikes available (at least not yet) as "race only" - believe me, I ASKED.

The Duck 900SS program was a sweet thing for Ducati.

Us privateers are HUNGRY for something like it - but based on the past XB program, it's not too likely we'll see 1125 bikes or pieces available ESPECIALLY if they're selling every bike off the line to dealers already.

I can name 4 of us racing here at Willow who would throw money at one THIS WEEK - CASH - no VIN, "Race Only" stampings.

Looks like my XB is going to have to get "uncrashed" and I'll probably have a year before the 1125R is my second racebike- either for me as a racer or as "team owner."

I'm kinda/sorta hoping some of these first year pre-production bikes MIGHT get cut loose next year.

we can dream can't we???

I am with you guys, but I would be happy if they just offered the same parts from the racing dept. as they offer for the XB but for the 1125R in time for next season.

Sometimes in the passion of the moment, we kinda forget.

"CR" stands for (I think..) "Competitively Raceable", and it could be a jolly good thing....no ?
There are plenty of interested takers over here, especially after seeing the XBRR's in action, and on paper, it sure looks like it could be well good, what it may lose in sheer grunt against the 1098's, it should make up for in the chassis department. It will easily be the master of the Aprilia's, will eat Honda and Suzuki twins for breakfast, and will clean it's teeth with 999's.....

"We never discuss future products..."

What about that dirt bike, then? That was DEFINITELY outed officially by the company TWO YEARS before one will ever hit a dealer floor.

"Never say never."

"We never discuss future products..." except this time. The dirt bikes were the rare exception that proves the rule; the dealer body needed to prepare, and the new dirt bikes compete against nothing Buell currently builds. It doesn't hurt too much if the announcement causes a few people to delay buying KTMs until they see the Buell alternative . . .

There are still dealers that need to learn how to sell the Buells they have! LOL
