Hey,
I signed up for Pocono way back when the track day became available, am I good with the existing signup?

Bonus!

I'm currently signed up for VIR, but I'm trying to change to Pocono (a lot closer to my house). Lancaster HD/Buell says they hope to see bikes in "Late September". Hopefully this will give me a chance to ride one before having to plunk down my cash.

I spoke with Jon Flickinger for a while on Saturday, and he assured me that it will be at Miller September 6th. That is the first place it will be available for the public to ride. So, Dbird we'll have even more fun this go around.

Thats great news. Cant wait to take the 1125R through the cork screw at Laguna Seca, after getting aquainted with it at Pocono Raceway. Glad I registered for both days.I currently race a XB12R, regularly particepate in practice track days at Pocono. When Buell announced the Buell sponsored and demo fleeted track day it was a done deal. now that the 1125R will be there, im super excited. Also, when I saw that Laguna Seca was one of the venues, I had to register for that one just to have the opertunity to ride at such an awesome facility even if it means flying across the country for a one day event. Juse plain thrilled, cant wait!!!!!!!

P.S.
It was really great of the folks at Buell. to unveil the 1125r for all the Buell Fans and racers who attended the CCS ASRA races at Road America. Great job Buell, Henry and the whole crew.

AW MAN...they are putting the pressure on! I haven't had my M-2 on the track since I crashed it at Barber in July 2005. VIR is only 18 miles from my house but they are going to run the full course and the last time I tried to run the M-2 on a long straight (Road Atlanta) it broke a front exhaust stud. It did the same thing when I ran the FUSA course at Pocono. It's something about the long, sustained vibration at full throttle, I guess.

It sure would be sweet to ride the new bike at VIR though.....AW MAN!!!!!!!

Rotchcrocket - 7-9 lb-ft, man. That's all those studs get!

...and where is your place? I may need a spot to crash if I can scam the time off to come down from Maryland on the S2, LOL.

...waitaminit...yeeeaaahhh...I need to talk the owner of the dealer into sending the race team and trailer down....and I'll just hitch-hike....yeah, that's the ticket! Muah-hah-hahhhh....

Hey Rat....Thanks for the info. I don't remember checking the torque when I have replaced them....BUT the first time I broke one, it was torqued from the factory. When I had my bike for about a month, I made the unfortunate decision to let someone else ride it......You can guess the rest. The bike was crashed and there may have been damage that I've never noticed or corrected, that has contributed to other problems I've had down through the years. It was a lesson learned.

One thing that happened in that crash that went undetected for years was that the front axle was bent. I knew it was hard to slide in but never notice the bend until I decided to switch to the "new" style front brake rotor. It wouldn't line up right with the caliper.

The old style rotor had the isolators that were held in place with bolts, nuts and "washers". That set up allowed for a lot of lateral movement. The new style isolators held the rotor in line with the carrier and it wouldn't work.

When I pulled the axle out that time, I finally noticed that it had an offset in it.

The old set up had worked for years with the whole thing wobbling along. I did notice that on the front straight at VIR, when I would change into fifth gear, I had to have a very light touch on the bars to keep the front end from wobbling. Once I changed to the new rotor, all that went away.

Wow, that's a bit...scary. Glad you found the bent axle in the garage instead of on that straightaway!

Don't quote me on the 7-9 torque number, let me doublecheck my book to make absolutely sure before you replace the stud. If you don't hear from me by the time you're wrenching, drop me a note, OK?

Dave and all, just signed myself up for Miller, see you there!

Totally stoked to try out the new bike, last Inside Pass was my first track day and I was dragging knee halfway through the day on the factory bikes. I was not comfortable enough on my own bike to do that... The TT was a blast, I'll just expect the 1125 to be as easy or easier to ride fast! Woohoo!!

Hope to get my shock sent off this week for a rebuild, maybe I can get my knee down with my suspension set up...

Coturi, I think I took a couple pics of your bike at the last event, sweet paint job.

Hey Mike, we'll have at least four of us there from Boise this time, can't freakin wait!

Last time I didn't even demo a bike, so I put 175 miles on mine. This time I'll probably only ride my own bike for a couple a sessions. The afternoon when the demos relax a bit is going to be unreal!

I believe you have to be a BUELL owner to register for those track days on the owner's site and that requires a valid VIN#. Maybe there is a way to do it by contacting the sponsor directly but I don't know. GOOD LUCK.

Curtyd, Try Private Track Time, may just be PTT dot com. All my paper work from signing up has their name on it.

I think the Utah Sport Bike Assoc. has a link so if you can't get on through PTT go to utahsba dot com. Haven't been on their site for a while but a lot of guys at the last track day were using that site to get on. There were a lot of Buells there but many other bikes as well.

Miller Motor Sports Park is in Toole (pronounced "two-ill-uh") UT. Their website is just the same as the name. I believe we get the full track again, they frequently split the track in half for racing.

"ALL MAKES and MODELS WELCOME".

You see, the underlying objective here is to get other brand riders in to:
1. Show them how fantastic the Buell Motor Co. treats Buell owners.
2. They can see how much fun Buell riders are having flogging the sh$t out of their Buells.
2. Put them in the seat of a Buell for a few laps until they come to their senses, then
3. Convert them to Buell owners!

Yeah, it's the full 4.45 mile track. This time with the 1125R the 4500' long straight won't seem so much like overkill.

You know I was backing off on the straight because it was like "been there done that". Better to let the fast bikes go.
The 1125r will definitely be different on the BIG track.

heres my thing, 150 bucks, thats not too bad really, but when i dont havea street legal (or something that can operate on a roadrace course) bike then it becomes a big bummer.

i have money down on the 1125R, id love to take a test spin on it, sucks for garrett

How far are you from the track? If you're close, I'd just stop bye and talk to the Buell Demo guys that are there!
