ok, here's the executive summary:

from apriliaforum.com

quote:

Spoke with Darren James and David Estok over the weekend. They both rode the 1125r in a 6 hour endurance ride @ Barber. That is where all the videos came from.

General comments:

Buell would not let them touch any of the suspension settings, they had to ride it box stock. It handled almost as well as there fully set up race bikes.

ZTL brakes were fine. Just had to change the brake pads after about 4 hours which they said was standard.

No steering dampener on the bike, had no problems with the bumps @ Barber that ARE an issue on their race bikes.

Belt drive was fine after 6 hours, motor was incredible. They agreed that the styling wasn't the best.

Yes they are both factory riders, but I've been around and interviewed enough racers to know when I'm getting the PR spin, and this wasn't it.

Jose`,

Thanks, and where do you find this stuff. You have some amazing searching skills...far superior to my googling. Keep this stuff coming.

They agreed that the styling wasn't the best.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I downloaded the photo of the power wheelie off of Buell's OWNER site and it now is my background. That bike is a thing of beauty, and it even looks fast sitting still. Besides, the race model that they will be riding will have full fairings on it like their current XB's.

They also said that the engine was tremendous with TONS of torque all over.

List to the week before episode #56 and there is a rundown and opinion of the 1125r. It is also the first segment so you dn't have to wait forever.
